Margot Robbie is giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at what it was like to film the steamy romance in Emerald Fennell’s new adaptation of Wuthering Heights. The actress appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live this week and didn’t hold back when talking about working alongside Jacob Elordi.

Robbie, who also produced the film through her LuckyChap Entertainment company, described screening the movie for a group of friends in a themed party for her character, Catherine. “Last week, my friends who are amazing threw a bachelorette for Kathy. Kathy is the character I play, and I kind of thought it was a joke at first,” she said. She called the evening “the most unhinged experience” of her life, noting that her twenty guests fully embraced the “Victorian sl***y” theme.

The actress admitted that the reaction to Elordi, who plays Heathcliff, was intense. “When Jacob came on screen, I think it registered on the Richter scale. I was honestly like, ‘If he walked in right now, I think they would eat him. Safer that he’s not here,’” Robbie joked.

She also didn’t shy away from discussing the romantic scenes. “Yeah, we kiss a lot. We kiss everywhere. A lot of kissing,” she told Kimmel, a statement that immediately had fans buzzing on social media.

As of early 2026, Robbie is riding a high point in her career. After the worldwide success of Barbie, she’s taken on several major projects both in front of and behind the camera. In addition to Wuthering Heights, she’s starring in A Big Bold Beautiful Journey alongside Colin Farrell. Rumors have also linked her to a potential Pirates of the Caribbean reboot, though she hasn’t confirmed anything.

Jacob Elordi is keeping busy as well. The 28-year-old recently starred in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein and is set to appear in The Dog Stars while returning for the third season of Euphoria.

Director Emerald Fennell, who previously worked with Elordi on Saltburn, described this version of Wuthering Heights as “stylized and steamy,” highlighting the obsessive and intense nature of Catherine and Heathcliff’s romance. The film also features Hong Chau and Shazad Latif in supporting roles. With a Valentine’s Day weekend release, the movie is expected to attract audiences looking for a darker, more passionate love story.

Robbie’s candid and humorous comments about the bachelorette screening and the chemistry with Elordi have only added to the hype. Fans are eager to see if the on-screen romance lives up to her stories and if this adaptation will leave a lasting impression on a new generation.
