Beverly Hills was bathed in a distinctly “Brat” green last night as A24 celebrated the Los Angeles premiere of its meta-mockumentary The Moment.

The event, held on January 29, 2026, transformed the red carpet into a high-fashion playground for pop culture’s biggest disruptors. With a guest list that felt like a curated Tumblr dashboard come to life, the premiere solidified the film as the season’s most polarizing cultural event.

Kylie Jenner stole the spotlight in a daring Maison Margiela spring 2026 runway look that she famously “Kardashian-ized.” The mogul opted for a super low-rise silk ball skirt paired with a ruffled halter top, leaving her midriff entirely bare. Posing alongside her friend Charli XCX, Jenner looked every bit the movie star as she celebrated her official acting debut in the film.

Charli XCX, the mastermind behind the project, arrived in a look that perfectly captured the film’s chaotic energy. Dressed in a shimmering silver corset and leather hot pants, the singer channeled the “hell version” of herself that she portrays on screen. It’s fiction, but it’s the realest depiction of the music industry that I’ve ever seen, Charli said of the project, which satirizes the extreme consumerism and pressure of pop stardom.

Chappell Roan provided the evening’s most avant-garde fashion moment in what fans on social media have dubbed “Nurse Ratched chic.” The singer wore an Ilona straight dress in a muted jade shade, complete with a matching lambskin hat and custom leather Zana Bayne gloves. Her theatrical presence was a fitting tribute to a movie that explores the boundaries between public persona and private reality.

The mockumentary, directed by Aidan Zamiri in his feature debut, follows a fictionalized Charli as she navigates the fallout of a massive career peak. The plot explores an alternate timeline where the singer faces absurd corporate demands, including the launch of a Brat-themed credit card.

The cast is a revolving door of indie darlings and industry heavyweights, including Rachel Sennott, Rosanna Arquette, and Jamie Demetriou. The casting is so fun. You have Rachel Sennott and Kylie Jenner totally making fun of their public images, Zamiri told W Magazine. The film even features a surprise music video cameo by Jenner for the song “Residue,” which was released earlier this week to promote the film’s soundtrack.

Despite its star-studded premiere, The Moment has arrived to a divided critical reception following its debut at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival. Some critics have hailed it as a spiritual successor to Spice World, while others found the satire too understated for its own good. Regardless of the reviews, A24 has reported that the film is their fastest-selling limited release to date, proving that the “Charli circus” is still in full swing.

Other notable attendees included Troye Sivan, Conan Gray, and Tove Lo, who all braved the flashbulbs to support the film’s exploration of the music industry’s “saturated” market. The evening also marked a significant professional milestone for Aidan Zamiri, who transitioned from directing iconic music videos for “360” and “Guess” to helm this $4 million A24 production.
