Sabrina Carpenter is stepping into Super Bowl season with a playful and very unexpected ad. The singer and actress is making her first-ever Super Bowl commercial appearance in a new Pringles campaign that leans into humor, romance, and a very salty twist.

The ad is set to air during Super Bowl LX on February 8 on NBC. A shorter 30-second version will be shown during the third quarter of the game between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks.

In the spot, Carpenter is on a mission to find the perfect partner. Her solution comes from an unlikely place. She takes inspiration from the iconic Pringles mascot and creates her own dream man, named Pringleleo. The story plays with the idea that men, much like snacks, can have a salty side.

This marks Pringles’ ninth year in a row advertising during the Super Bowl. The campaign was created by the agency BBDO New York and continues the brand’s long-running tradition of leaning into its mascot and slogan in a fun way.

Mars Snacking senior vice president Sarah Reinecke explained the idea behind the ad in a statement shared with The Hollywood Reporter. Our iconic snack has been popping off in the Big Game for nearly a decade, she said. This year, we’re bringing Pringles to life, almost literally, as Sabrina builds her beloved Pringleleo, and we’re honored to show the world their unexpected love story.

BBDO New York chief creative officer Michael Aimette also spoke about working with Carpenter. She immediately got the joke and elevated it, he said. Making a love story built out of crisps feel pretty natural, all things considered.

The commercial arrives during a huge moment for Carpenter’s career. She recently earned six Grammy nominations, following the release of her album Man’s Best Friend in August. With music success and now a Super Bowl ad under her belt, she is clearly having a big year.
