Nicki Minaj is making her position on transgender issues clear, and she says there is a hard line she will not cross. The rapper shared her views during a recent appearance on The Katie Miller Podcast, which aired earlier this week.

Minaj said she has no problem with transgender adults making their own choices. According to her, adults should have full control over their lives. “I personally don’t have an issue with the trans part of the LGBT at all,” she said. “I am the biggest advocate for adults being able to do whatever the heck they want to do. They’re adults. I don’t care.”

Her tone changed when the conversation moved to minors and medical procedures. Minaj explained that her concern is tied to age, development, and consent. She compared gender-related surgeries to other cosmetic procedures that are usually restricted for teens. “I wouldn’t even allow my 17-year-old daughter to get breast implants,” she said. “Most 99% of the parents would not let their 17-year-old child get breast implants.”

She added that kids should not be making permanent medical decisions because their brains are still developing. “You’re not going to want them to have any kind of surgery because we all know the brain is not developed,” Minaj said.

During the interview, Minaj also brought up mental health concerns. She pointed to statistics she believes support her stance. “We’ve heard about 19 times more likely to commit suicide,” she claimed. “What more do you need to know that a child is 19 times more likely to commit suicide if they have a surgery before they’re an adult?”

The discussion later moved away from gender issues and into politics. Minaj strongly criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom while reacting to comments made by the podcast host about the state. She accused Newsom of focusing on social media instead of real problems. “With everything you said, but then having the audacity to be playing on Twitter, obsessed with Trump,” she said. “We would never want someone like that to be our president.” She went on to claim that voters would reject him in the future, saying “no one is going to vote for you.”

The interview fits into a larger shift in Minaj’s public image. She has recently been appearing more often in conservative spaces. Last week, she attended the premiere of the documentary Melania at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. There, she was seen interacting with President Donald Trump and Donald Trump Jr. She later described herself as Trump’s “number one fan.”

Outside of music, Minaj has hinted at several new projects. These include multiple documentaries, audiobook releases, and continued growth of her shoe brand, Loci. She has also suggested that another world tour could happen after her next album drops.

Nicki Minaj is clearly using her platform differently than before, and her comments are sparking strong reactions on all sides. Do you agree with her views on adults versus minors, or do you think this shift could hurt her relationship with fans? Share your thoughts in the comments.
