Martha Stewart, 84, Opens Up About Watching ‘Heated Rivalry’ and Her NSFW Reaction
Martha Stewart has admitted she isn’t a fan of the steamy sports drama Heated Rivalry. The 84-year-old lifestyle icon spoke to Kay Adams on the Up & Adams Show, revealing she tried watching the show but it didn’t appeal to her. “I tried, I tried. It doesn’t turn me on. That’s not my stuff,” Stewart said.
Instead, Stewart prefers a very different type of TV drama. She praised MobLand, the crime series about rival mob families, calling it her favorite.
“MobLand’s my stuff. I love MobLand,” she explained. She also highlighted the series’ star-studded cast, including Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, and Tom Hardy. “Oh and Tom Hardy, he’s my man!” she added. Stewart also gave credit to director Guy Ritchie for making the show one of the best on television in 2025.

While Stewart skips Heated Rivalry, the show has captured the attention of many other celebrities. Actors like Pedro Pascal, Ayo Edebiri from The Bear, and Haley Lu Richardson of White Lotus fame have praised the series and its depiction of a gay romance.
The show, which is based on Rachel Reid’s Game Changers book series, follows hockey rivals Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, played by Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie. Over the course of season one, the two characters develop a secret romantic relationship, which includes several NSFW scenes.
Heated Rivalry has been a hit since its November premiere on Crave and HBO Max. Its popularity has led to plans for a second season, as well as the release of another book in the series. Despite Stewart’s lack of interest, the show continues to gain fans and create buzz online.
Martha’s comments show that even someone with a keen eye for trends and popular culture isn’t necessarily drawn to every hit series. Her honesty about what she enjoys watching highlights how personal taste can vary, even among high-profile celebrities.
