Zack Snyder is giving fans a rare glimpse into the world of Ben Affleck’s Batman. The director recently shared a striking behind-the-scenes photo on Instagram showing Affleck in full “Batfleck” mode.

The black-and-white shot highlights the darker, more worn version of Bruce Wayne that Snyder brought to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. In the caption, Snyder included the camera details, writing, Wide lens. Dark knight. Leica MD, 28mm. F1.7.

The image has sparked excitement and nostalgia among fans of the “Snyderverse,” especially those who loved Affleck’s brooding take on the superhero.

Fans quickly flooded the comments, calling for the return of the Snyderverse, though Snyder seems to be using his Instagram more like a personal gallery. He has been posting previously unseen photos from his time in the DC Extended Universe, telling followers in an earlier post that he is only getting started with his archive. Affleck has also spoken fondly of the role, saying the “damaged” Bruce Wayne was his favorite to play, while supporting the character’s evolution for new audiences.

Affleck’s career remains busy outside the Bat suit. He is starring in Netflix’s crime thriller The Rip, which premiered on January 16. Directed by Joe Carnahan, the film reunites Affleck with Matt Damon as Miami-Dade narcotics officers who stumble into a dangerous situation after finding a huge sum of cash.

Outside of work, Affleck has been in the headlines for his personal life following his 2025 divorce from Jennifer Lopez. He’s been spending time with his children and was recently seen cheering on the New England Patriots before Super Bowl LX. At 53, Affleck continues to balance big-budget projects with producing and directing, maintaining his status as one of Hollywood’s most active and versatile talents.

Affleck’s portrayal still divides opinions, but many agree he brought a unique depth to Batman. Do you think Ben Affleck will always be one of the best Dark Knights of the modern era? Share your thoughts in the comments.
