Sydney Sweeney reminded everyone why the little black dress is still one of fashion’s most powerful staples. The 28-year-old actor stepped out in New York City while promoting her horror movie Immaculate, rocking three completely different versions of the classic outfit.

Her first look came from Versace’s Spring 2024 collection, a long-sleeved mini with a sharply structured hourglass shape. The dress featured bold shoulder pads and a cinched waist that immediately drew attention.

Sweeney paired it with sheer tights by Calzedonia, black Gianvito Rossi pumps, and subtle gold and diamond jewelry. She told reporters the look felt “like armor for the press day”, giving her confidence as she talked about her film.

Next, she showed off a Khaite creation that blended biker style with retro glamour. The sleeveless ribbed knit wool and leather midi dress had a drop waist, silver buttons, and a mock neck. She finished the edgy outfit with pointed black leather boots covered in silver buckles and a black croc-embossed clutch.

Sweeney’s stylist, Molly Dickson, described it as “part strength, part sophistication, perfect for Sydney.” Her final outfit of the day was for a red carpet event and a taping of the Happy Sad Confused podcast with Josh Horowitz.

She wore a stretchy black dress with sheer floral lace at the waist and a ruffled, silky skirt. Sweeney said she loved how it balanced “feminine elegance with a little bit of mystery,” which fit her career evolution perfectly.

Since breaking out in shows like Euphoria and The White Lotus, Sweeney has moved confidently into the film world. Her latest project, the psychological thriller The Housemaid, starred Amanda Seyfried and explored the dark secrets of a wealthy household. She is also preparing for a busy year ahead with several major films lined up.

One of those is Christy, a sports biopic where she portrays 1990s boxing champion Christy Martin. She’s also starring in Eden, a survival thriller directed by Ron Howard with a cast that includes Jude Law, Ana de Armas, and Vanessa Kirby. Netflix fans can look forward to her in a live-action Gundam adaptation, and she’s set to headline the period drama The Custom of the Country.

Off-screen, Sweeney has been making headlines for her personal life as well. She was recently spotted in Los Angeles with music manager Scooter Braun, sparking rumors about a new relationship. On the business front, she launched her own lingerie brand, Syrn, and promoted it with a stunt at the Hollywood Sign that went viral across social media.

Through all of this, the little black dress has remained Sweeney’s go-to fashion statement. Whether structured, edgy, or delicate, she’s proving it can be versatile, powerful, and completely attention-grabbing.
