This Actress Reportedly Hated Johnny Depp After She Worked With Him on ‘Blow’
Johnny Depp has faced controversy throughout his career, and some of it stretches back to the early 2000s. Before he even met his future wife, Amber Heard, Depp had several arrests for violent incidents, including a notorious hotel room incident with then-girlfriend Kate Moss. Rumors about him pushing Moss down stairs circulated for years, but Moss herself has denied them.
One of the earliest on-set allegations came from actress Lola Glaudini, who worked with Depp on the 2001 crime comedy Blow. Speaking on the Powerful Truth Angels podcast, Glaudini recalled a particularly harsh encounter during filming. She said Depp berated her after a scene, jamming a finger in her face and shouting, “Who the f*** do you think you are? Shut the f*** up. I’m out here, and I’m trying to f***** say my lines, and you’re f***** pulling focus. You f***** idiot.”
Glaudini said she was shocked. “First day, on the set, I’ve never met him. This was my first studio movie. I’ve just done indies until then. And I have the star who I have idolized, who I am so excited to work with, reamed me in my face. The only thing going through my head was, ‘Don’t cry, don’t cry, don’t cry’.”
According to Glaudini, the experience didn’t end there. She claimed that after filming wrapped, she was treated “like a pariah” for speaking out against Depp, suggesting that challenging his behavior could affect a person’s career. Other crew members have faced similar struggles. Gregg Brooks, a location manager who took Depp to court over alleged violence on the set of City of Lies, said the incident hurt his work opportunities.
Depp’s representatives have denied Glaudini’s account. Entertainment Weekly reported that they said, “Johnny always prioritizes good working relationships with cast and crew, and this recounting differs greatly from the recollection of other members on set at the time.” Some crew members, like Sam Sarker in the sound department, also stated in Variety that they did not hear Depp yelling at Glaudini.
Depp’s history of allegations continues to draw attention, especially as he makes a return to acting. With past incidents spanning multiple productions and decades, it remains to be seen whether new details will emerge or if Depp will demonstrate a change in behavior.
