Kylie Jenner Stands by Timothée Chalamet as Oscars Hopes Take a Hit
Timothée Chalamet did not go home from the BAFTAs with a trophy, but he certainly didn’t leave the night without support. According to The Times, his longtime girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, was by his side at London’s Royal Festival Hall on Sunday to comfort him after his unexpected loss in the Best Leading Actor category.
The couple stayed close throughout the evening, sharing a rare public moment in the audience before heading to an exclusive post-awards dinner. Jenner was even seen playfully perched on Chalamet’s lap as they celebrated quietly with friends.
Chalamet had been the favorite for his role in the table tennis biopic Marty Supreme, having already won at the Golden Globes and Critics’ Choice Awards. But the night belonged to British actor Robert Aramayo, who took home the BAFTA for I Swear.
The victory surprised many, beating out not only Chalamet but also veteran actor Leonardo DiCaprio. Inside the hall, Chalamet seemed a bit distracted during the ceremony. He was often on his phone, scrolling through messages and even laughing at a meme sent by a friend featuring him in his bright orange suit from the film’s Los Angeles premiere.
Jenner, meanwhile, wore a plunging black gown with silver jewel detailing, looking elegant and supportive throughout the evening. The couple’s appearance sparked renewed interest in their relationship, which has lasted more than three years. Sources told The Times that they are already living together and discussing the possibility of marriage.
Jenner skipped the traditional red carpet photo-op to avoid a media frenzy, but her presence made it clear that their bond is strong. During his acceptance speech, Aramayo expressed disbelief at beating such big names. “I absolutely can’t believe this. I can’t believe I’m looking at people like you [Leonardo DiCaprio], never mind that I’m standing here,” he said.
He praised all the nominees, adding, “Everyone in this category blows me away.” He also thanked Ethan Hawke for advice on protecting his craft and longevity as an actor. Cameras caught DiCaprio clapping politely while Chalamet offered a supportive smile for the rising star.

Despite the BAFTA loss, Chalamet’s Oscars chances remain strong. Aramayo is not nominated for an Academy Award, leaving the Best Actor race open between Chalamet, DiCaprio, Wagner Moura, Ethan Hawke, and Michael B. Jordan. Critics are still praising Chalamet’s performance as Marty Mauser, which has made him a front-runner for March’s awards.
Chalamet is staying busy this year. After awards season for Marty Supreme, he is set to return as Paul Atreides in Dune: Part Three, directed by Denis Villeneuve, alongside Zendaya and Florence Pugh. He is also reportedly attached to a new secret project called High Side.
Jenner, meanwhile, has been focused on her business empire, recently launching a major campaign for Kylie Cosmetics and maintaining a presence in fashion through events like Paris Fashion Week. Between her professional work and her relationship with Chalamet, she continues to be a mainstay of Hollywood’s elite.
Marty Supreme has been a commercial hit despite missing a BAFTA, grossing over $150 million worldwide. The film, directed by Josh Safdie, follows a 1950s table tennis champion and features a diverse cast including Gwyneth Paltrow and Tyler, the Creator.
