Kate Hudson has always been upfront about how she handles breakups, and she recently shared her no-nonsense approach during an appearance on The Howard Stern Show on February 24.

The 46-year-old actress explained that she doesn’t drag out the end of a relationship or demand long explanations when someone loses interest.“If a guy says they don’t want it, they’re not into it — I’m out,” Hudson told Stern. She emphasized that she prefers to accept a breakup immediately instead of engaging in drawn-out emotional conversations.

The actress recalled one instance when a former boyfriend was surprised by her calm reaction. After he told her he couldn’t continue the relationship, she simply said, “Okay.” Even when he tried to start a deeper discussion about the split, Hudson stayed firm. “Now you want to connect with me about us not being together? No. We’re done connecting,” she recalled.

Her straightforward attitude toward love shows a clear commitment to self-respect and emotional boundaries. The conversation with Stern also touched on Hudson’s breakout role in Almost Famous, which recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. Stern reminded her of an old interview where she joked that she wanted every man who ever rejected her to see her face on the Times Square poster.

Hudson laughed at the memory and said she even talked about it with one ex years later, after both had married and had children. Professionally, Hudson is enjoying a major renaissance. Her acclaimed performance in the musical drama Song Sung Blue, which tells the story of a Milwaukee couple forming a Neil Diamond tribute band, has put her back in awards conversations.

She is currently a frontrunner for Best Actress at the 98th Academy Awards on March 15 and also has a nomination at the Actor Awards on March 1. Hudson is also active in music, continuing to promote her debut album, Glorious, alongside her acting projects.

Later this year, she will star in Running Point, a comedy series for Mindy Kaling, where she plays a woman who unexpectedly becomes president of a professional basketball team. In her personal life, Hudson remains happily engaged to musician Danny Fujikawa, with whom she shares a seven-year-old daughter, Rani Rose. The couple has been together since 2017 and were friends for over a decade before dating.

She also continues to co-parent her sons, 22-year-old Ryder and 14-year-old Bingham, with her former partners Chris Robinson and Matt Bellamy. Kate Hudson’s honesty about love, her thriving career, and her busy personal life show that she is confident, grounded, and focused on what matters most.
