Rose Byrne turned heads once again on the red carpet at the 32nd Actor Awards on Sunday, March 1, showing why she’s become one of the most talked-about stars on the awards circuit.

The 46-year-old Australian actress chose an elegant ecru embroidered silk crepe gown from Chanel’s Métiers d’art collection, pairing it with Messika jewelry and Gianvito Rossi sandals.

Byrne arrived solo without her husband, Bobby Cannavale, and looked relaxed and radiant. She recently told Vogue that her approach to red-carpet dressing balances comfort with playfulness.

A red-carpet dress has to be flattering, because you have to feel comfortable in the public eye, but it should also be fun – you can’t take clothes too seriously, she explained while preparing for the evening.

The ceremony was an important milestone for Byrne, marking her first solo nomination at the Actor Awards in over ten years. She was recognized for her role as Linda in the A24 drama If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, a psychotherapist struggling to care for a daughter with a life-threatening feeding disorder.

I feel very grateful. I feel very honored. And it’s surreal. It’s a small movie, and it’s a challenging film, so it feels extra magical, she said. Her performance has already earned her a Golden Globe and a Film Independent Spirit Award, cementing her reputation for tackling demanding roles.

Byrne admitted that she no longer tries to predict what will be noticed or acknowledged by the industry. I’ve given up long ago trying to predict what will or won’t be seen or acknowledged. I simply can’t crack the code. So having this happen is an experience, she shared.

Although Byrne did not win the Actor Award, which went to Jessie Buckley for Hamnet, her presence reinforced her status as a top contender for the Academy Awards on March 15. If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, directed by Mary Bronstein, also stars Conan O’Brien, Christian Slater, and A$AP Rocky, and has been praised for its raw portrayal of parental grief and maternal burnout.

Beyond awards season, Byrne has a packed schedule. She will return to Apple TV+ for the third season of her hit series Platonic later this year alongside Seth Rogen. She also recently wrapped production on the film Tow, where she plays a woman challenging the system after her car is towed, and is set to star in the Peacock thriller series The Good Daughter in May.

The actress will also make her stage debut in a Broadway production of Noël Coward’s Fallen Angels after the film season ends. Between her acclaimed dramatic roles and her upcoming work in comedy and theater, Byrne’s career shows no signs of slowing down.

Her Chanel gown at the Actor Awards was a quiet but powerful statement, celebrating a career that continues to reach new heights. Rose Byrne’s red carpet look and career milestones highlight her talent, style, and versatility.
