Charlie Hunnam stepped onto the red carpet at the 2026 Actor Awards with longtime partner Morgana McNelis, marking another rare public appearance for the couple during this busy awards season.

The pair attended the ceremony together as Hunnam celebrated his nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series for his role in Ryan Murphy’s series Monster: The Ed Gein Story. While they often keep their personal life away from the spotlight, this was their third joint appearance at a major event in recent months.

Hunnam chose a deep blue look for the night. He wore a navy suede jacket paired with a soft blue shirt. The outfit was finished with a black cummerbund, tailored black trousers, and dress shoes. A simple silver chain and slicked-back hair completed his appearance.

McNelis brought a classic feel to the carpet. She wore a cream gown with a matching wrap and carried a gold clutch. Her hair was styled in soft curls and she kept her makeup subtle, apart from a bright pink lip.

McNelis has supported Hunnam throughout the awards season, including appearances at both the Emmys and Golden Globes earlier this year.

Their relationship has lasted nearly twenty years, but Hunnam’s latest acting role brought a unique challenge at home. Speaking earlier this year to Live From E! at the Critics Choice Awards, the actor shared how deeply he immersed himself in the role.

“I was slipping in and out of it all the time,” he said. He recalled how McNelis reacted, adding, “And she would say, ‘Dude, you have to stop at the voice. At breakfast, it’s a little too much.’”

The role was not an easy one for him to take on. Hunnam also told E! that he needed time to understand the character before fully committing.

“It took a while to get past what he did,” he said, explaining the process of exploring the person behind the crimes. Despite the difficulty, he made it clear he does not regret the decision, saying, “Now, we’re standing here and I’m happy that I did.”

His performance has since received strong praise from critics, placing him among fellow nominees including Jason Bateman, Owen Cooper, Stephen Graham, and Matthew Rhys.

Their appearance at the Actor Awards highlighted both Hunnam’s professional milestone and the steady support of his partner. While the couple rarely puts their relationship on display, moments like this show the balance between demanding roles and personal life.

Seeing actors talk openly about how their work affects life at home makes them feel more real. It shows that even big roles come with personal challenges. What do you think about Charlie and Morgana stepping out together and his honesty about the role? Share your thoughts in the comments.
