Directing duties are handled by Michael Tiddes. New cast members joining the chaos include Olivia Rose Keegan, Savannah Lee Nassif, Cameron Scott Roberts, Sydney Park, Gregg Wayans, Ruby Snowber, and Benny Zielke.
The project is being produced by Miramax, with executive producers Jonathan Glickman, Alexandra Loewy, and Thom Zadra attached. Paramount Pictures will handle global distribution, with the film set to arrive in cinemas on June 12.
Speaking previously about the tone of the movie, Marlon Wayans described it as a “no-holds-barred” entry that doesn’t hold back when it comes to its comedy. “It’s how we always do it,” he said. “We just want to make everybody laugh, and we don’t care if you’re sensitive. Even sensitive people need to laugh at themselves.”
It looks like the franchise is going back to its roots with the original team returning both in front of and behind the camera. That could be a smart move, especially for longtime fans who grew up with these films.
Bringing the original cast back gives this sequel a real chance to reconnect with audiences. The mix of old faces and new talent could keep things fresh while still honoring what made the series popular in the first place. What do you think about the return of the Wayans brothers and the direction of this new film? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
