Harry Styles Goes Bare for ‘Runner’s World’ and Flaunts Every Muscle
Harry Styles is showing off more than his music chops these days. The 32-year-old singer is featured shirtless on the Spring 2026 cover of Runner’s World, flaunting his toned abs and tattoos while hitting the pavement.
The magazine revealed the cover on March 3, featuring Styles stretching on a sunny day in cheetah-print shorts and Oakley sunglasses. Additional shots from the shoot show him taking an ice bath, sporting a vintage Donald Duck cap, and smiling at the camera.
In the accompanying interview, Styles opened up about his passion for running and how it shaped his life and career. He spoke with renowned author Haruki Murakami, whose 2008 memoir, What I Talk About When I Talk About Running, inspired him to start training for marathons. “It freed me from the idea that music had to be an unhealthy profession and I had to be this tortured soul,” Styles told Murakami, 77.
“Your point is that being healthy makes you able to be an artist for a long time, that you can be a structured, healthy person and make great work. So I have a lot of gratitude to you for that.”
Styles began running in his early 20s but didn’t run his first marathon until age 31. He completed the Tokyo Marathon in March 2025 in three hours and 24 minutes, followed by the Berlin Marathon that September in an impressive two hours and 59 minutes.
“I usually drink a lot of water, but I was really scared of peeing myself during the [Berlin] Marathon, so I fueled up in the morning with a lot of electrolytes and not too much actual water, then I drank lots during the race,” Styles said, adding, “Usually before every long run, I eat the biggest croissant I can find.”

He also talked about balancing running with enjoying life on the road. “Good electronic music is so good, you know — especially the melodic aspect. When you’re out at night, it’s such a community, but you’re also watching people have such individual experiences,” Styles said.
Running and music intersect for Styles in his latest album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally., set to release on March 6. “I wanted to recreate [what] I had on the dance floor, being lost in instrumentation and the musicality,” he explained. “It was so immersive, like, this is how I want to feel when I’m on stage too. I don’t want it to feel like a sermon I’m delivering. I wanted it to feel like, ‘Oh, we’re in this music together. Like I’m in it with you.’”
Styles will take the album on the road during his Together, Together tour, which includes a 30-night Madison Square Garden residency in New York and 12 shows at London’s Wembley Stadium. He admitted he didn’t expect to return to music so quickly after finishing his 169-date Love on Tour in 2023.
“Something I’ve often struggled with, in the middle of a tour, is feeling like I’m not sure what I’m giving, not sure what I’m adding to the world,” he shared.
Music and running help him stay grounded. “When I started listening to more electronic music, the shift felt just very hypnotic, like, ‘Oh, I’m really lost in this thing.’ It was helpful to my running to get to that place where I felt like I was meditating right there. It makes the time go by in such a different way,” Styles said.
Styles’ Runner’s World feature proves he’s not just a performer, he’s a disciplined athlete and a man who finds inspiration in movement and music. His dedication to running clearly influences both his creative work and personal well-being.
