Elle Fanning is stepping into a bold new role in Apple TV’s upcoming series, Margo’s Got Money Troubles. The streaming service released the full trailer on Monday, giving fans a first look at the eight-episode show, which will debut with three episodes on April 15. New episodes will follow weekly until the finale on May 20.

The series is based on Rufi Thorpe’s novel and follows Margo, a recent college dropout and aspiring writer, played by Fanning. “She’s the daughter of an ex-Hooters waitress (Michelle Pfeiffer) and ex-pro wrestler (Nick Offerman),” the official logline explains. Struggling with a new baby, mounting bills, and limited options, Margo turns to an unexpected side hustle. She creates an online persona called “HungryGhost,” an alien with an insatiable appetite, on OnlyFans to make ends meet.

The show features a star-studded cast, including Nicole Kidman, Marcia Gay Harden, Greg Kinnear, Michael Angarano, Thaddea Graham, Rico Nasty, and Lindsey Normington. Emmy-winning producer David E. Kelley, known for Big Little Lies and Ally McBeal, serves as showrunner and executive producer. Fanning also joins Kelley, Kidman, Pfeiffer, Thorpe, and others as executive producers.

Apple TV’s trailer hints at a mix of comedy and drama, exploring the challenges of modern parenthood and financial struggles while showing Margo’s creative, sometimes risqué, ways to survive. Fans have already started sharing reactions online, intrigued by Fanning’s take on the complex character.

This series could be a fresh and daring addition to Apple TV’s lineup. Fanning taking on such a risky, layered role shows she’s ready to push boundaries as an actor. What do you think of the trailer and the premise? Share your thoughts in the comments.
