Henry Cavill Takes on a Deadly Billion-Dollar Heist With Guy Ritchie in ‘In The Grey’ Trailer
Henry Cavill is stepping back into action with director Guy Ritchie in the new thriller In The Grey. Known to many as the darker Superman in Zack Snyder’s DCEU, Cavill has moved on from the cape and found new roles that showcase his range.
After a quiet 2025, Cavill returns to the big screen following a busy 2024, which included the spy movie Argylle, a cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine, and leading the World War II action film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare alongside Alan Ritchson.
Cavill and Ritchie have teamed up before on The Man from U.N.C.L.E., and now they reunite for this high-stakes action story. Co-starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Eiza Gonzalez, In The Grey has been officially set for release on May 15. The studio Black Bear recently shared the first trailer, offering a glimpse of what fans can expect.

“In The Grey follows a covert team of elite operatives who live in the global shadows, as comfortable wielding power and influence as they are with automatic weapons and high explosives. When a ruthless despot steals a billion-dollar fortune, the team is sent to steal it back on what would be, for anyone else, a suicide mission. What begins as an impossible heist gets much worse, spiraling into an all-out war of strategy, deception, and survival,” the official synopsis reads.
In addition to this film, Ritchie has been busy with his Sherlock Holmes prequel Young Sherlock, which premiered on Prime Video. All eight episodes were released for streaming and quickly became a top hit. Prime Video has not yet confirmed if the series will continue beyond the first season, but its strong performance makes a renewal likely.
With In The Grey approaching release, fans of Cavill and Ritchie are excited to see the duo back together. The trailer highlights intense action, clever strategy, and high-stakes danger, signaling a major thrill ride for audiences.
This film looks like it could be one of Cavill’s most exciting roles post-Superman. It’s a smart move to reunite with Ritchie, given their past success, and the cast is packed with talent. I’m curious to see how the story balances the action with character depth. What do you think about Cavill and Ritchie teaming up again? Share your thoughts in the comments.
