Sydney Sweeney reflected on her journey toward feeling comfortable in her own skin, admitting that confidence didn’t come easily when she was younger. In a detailed interview with Us Weekly on March 12, the 28-year-old actress shared how body insecurities affected her from a very young age.

Sweeney explained that she developed physically earlier than many of her peers, recalling that by sixth grade, she already required a 32DD size. She said growing up with a body that drew attention made her want to stay invisible.

“I never had anything I felt good in, and I just wanted to hide,” she admitted, remembering the frustration of struggling to find clothing that was both comfortable and age-appropriate.

Her time on the HBO drama Euphoria marked a turning point for her self-image. Portraying Cassie Howard, a character who often dealt with visibility and self-consciousness, allowed Sweeney to see the value in embracing her body. She described how the role helped her realize that confidence can be empowering.

“It’s actually powerful to be confident; our bodies are incredible,” she said, noting that the experience inspired her to encourage others to feel comfortable in their own skin. Even after gaining more self-assurance, Sweeney encountered practical difficulties when it came to fashion.

Many outfits were uncomfortable or lacked proper support, which led her to create her own solution. Earlier this year, she launched the lingerie brand SYRN. The collection was carefully curated, with Sweeney personally creating a detailed mood board and collaborating with a diverse team to ensure the pieces worked for women of all shapes and sizes.

“I want to see it on everybody,” she told Cosmopolitan, explaining her vision for empowering women through her designs. The line sold out almost immediately after its January release.

Alongside her business ventures, Sweeney has maintained a busy acting schedule. She starred in the psychological thriller The Housemaid opposite Amanda Seyfried, earning praise for her portrayal of Millie.

Plans for a sequel are reportedly already in the works. She also physically transformed for a biopic about legendary boxer Christy Martin, gaining muscle and adopting a ’90s-style mullet to authentically represent Martin’s rise to fame.

Sweeney recently appeared in the Apple TV+ series Echo Valley alongside Julianne Moore, and recent rumors suggest she may be cast in a major role in an upcoming Star Wars project.

She continues to balance her Hollywood career with her entrepreneurial work, using both platforms to promote self-confidence and empowerment. Addressing critics who question her choices, Sweeney emphasized that her decisions are made for herself, not anyone else.

By turning her past insecurities into a source of motivation, she has built a career that extends beyond acting, with a strong influence in fashion, wellness, and empowerment. “Owning your body is the ultimate act of self-love,” she said, summarizing the lessons she has learned on her path to confidence.
