Millie Bobby Brown Steals the Spotlight in Fairy-Tale Cottagecore Gown at Her First Dog Rescue Gala
Millie Bobby Brown made a magical entrance at her first-ever dog rescue gala, showing off her love for animals in a whimsical cottagecore-inspired dress. The actress, known for her breakout role as Eleven in Stranger Things, hosted the inaugural event for her nonprofit, Joey’s Friends, which rescues dogs from high-kill shelters.
Brown, 18, shared glimpses of the evening on Instagram, where she wore a floor-length floral prairie gown with puffy sleeves and simple brown Mary Jane flats. Her shoulder-length hair was styled in soft waves and pinned back with floral clips, completing the dreamy, cottagecore vibe.
One photo captured her kissing a large dog, while others showed her giving a speech, smiling at a table with her husband Jake Bongiovi, and taking in the blue-and-orange floral décor designed by Jove Meyer. The decorations were meant to feel like a Southern home and included puppy paintings, framed dog portraits, and bone-shaped treats.
Millie told followers, “It was an incredible evening filled with community, compassion, and purpose. Most importantly, we raised awareness for rescue dogs and the importance of second chances. This mission has always been rooted in love and continues as we work to find every dog the furever home they deserve.”
The event highlights Brown’s dedication to animal welfare. She has 62 pets, including farm animals, foster dogs, and personal dogs. She told BBC Radio 1 last year, “I have 25 farm animals, and then I have 23 foster dogs, and then I have 10 dogs in my house that are my personal dogs, and four cats.” Joey’s Friends, founded in 2022, focuses on both physical care and emotional rehabilitation for rescued animals.
The gala also marks a new chapter for Brown. After a decade leading Stranger Things, the series concluded in early 2026. Reflecting on her career, she said, “It’s been such a huge part of my life, but I’m ready to see what else I can do.”
This gala shows that Brown’s heart is just as big as her career. Between her acting, her fashion ventures, and her nonprofit work, she’s building a life rooted in creativity and compassion.
