Hilary Duff Reveals the “Disgusting Food Game” She Plays With Her 13-Year-Old Son Luca

Hilary Duff has spoken about a strange but fun family activity she calls the “disgusting food game,” a challenge she says she helped create at home with her kids.

She shared the details during a recent appearance on Mythical Kitchen’s Last Meals, which was hosted by Josh Scherer. Duff said she found it funny being introduced as the “inventor” of the game and did not disagree with the label.

The idea behind the game is simple. It started with her eldest son Luca, who is 13, and his friends. They take random food from the fridge and build the most unpleasant combination they can think of. The goal is to eat it without reacting badly.

Duff explained that the rules are based on endurance. She said, “You design the grossest bite of food possible… and then feed it to each other, and it’s all about who can keep it down.” She added, “If you spit that out, you are a loser. You have not won.”

She also described how the combinations are made to be as unappealing as possible. She said the point is to push things to extremes and create something that is hard to eat. Some mixes can include strong or unusual ingredients put together in unexpected ways.

During the show, Duff and the host also tried their own version of the game. They created different food combinations using a wide mix of ingredients. At one point, Duff tried to figure out what she was eating while reacting to the taste and texture in real time.

She later reacted strongly when she found out some of the ingredients in her bite, including insects. She laughed and said, “You are such an a*****! There are so many crickets in my mouth.”

Even with the gross-out nature of the game, Duff said she enjoys it and has even played it in the past on social media. She also mentioned she would be open to trying it again.

Duff is a mother of four and said the game is just one of the ways she spends time with her children, including Luca, Banks, Mae, and her youngest child with husband Matthew Koma.
