New ‘Supergirl’ Trailer Drops Jaw-Dropping Superman Cameo
DC Studios and Warner Bros. have just dropped a new trailer for Supergirl, and fans are already buzzing online. The movie is set to hit theaters and IMAX across the U.S. this summer. Craig Gillespie directs, and Milly Alcock returns as Kara Zor-El, a.k.a. Supergirl, after her brief appearance at the end of last year’s Superman, directed by James Gunn.
The trailer shows Supergirl celebrating her 21st birthday off-planet, but things quickly take a dangerous turn. She gets caught up in a revenge mission against a villain named Krem of the Yellow Hills, played by Matthias Schoenaerts, and a mysterious girl, Ruthye Marye Knoll, portrayed by Eve Ridley. David Krumholtz plays Zor-El, Emily Beecham is Alura In-Ze, Jason Momoa appears as Lobo, and Ferdinand Kingsley plays Elias Knoll.
“When an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion on an epic, interstellar journey of vengeance and justice,” the official synopsis reads.

The film is based on the miniseries Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. In the comics, Kara has faced many challenges but often feels overshadowed by Superman’s fame. The story centers on a young alien girl seeking revenge and dragging Supergirl into a dangerous journey across space. Along the way, she is joined by a loyal Kryptonian, a dog, and a heartbroken child, all facing threats that will test them to their limits.
This latest trailer also teases a deeper connection to the DC Universe, hinting at more adventures and epic battles to come. Fans have been quick to react online, sharing clips and speculating about the surprises the film might hold.
This trailer really sets the stage for Supergirl to step out of Superman’s shadow and claim her own spotlight. The mix of space adventure, revenge-driven stakes, and the promise of emotional depth makes it one of the most exciting DC projects this year. What do you think about Supergirl’s first full trailer?
