Rumer Willis Responds To Parenting Backlash With Breastfeeding Video
Rumer Willis is once again making it known that she isn’t interested in public debates about how she raises her child. The 37-year-old actress recently posted a video on her Instagram addressing critics of her decision to continue breastfeeding her daughter, Louetta.
In the clip, Willis used a playful video, a whiteboard showing non-overlapping circles, to illustrate personal boundaries as the diagram encouraged viewers to “stay in their own lane.”
Willis added a short but pointed caption, “Sorry, not sorry,” emphasizing she isn’t here to justify her choices. This comes after her split from musician Derek Richard Thomas, as she continues to navigate life as a single mother.
This isn’t the first time Willis has responded to parenting criticism. Last year, she posted a filtered image of herself nursing Louetta at home, directly addressing people who questioned her.
At the time, she wrote, “For the haters who come at me about breastfeeding my 2-year-old I hope you have a blessed day,” showing that she doesn’t let outsiders dictate how she raises her child.
Willis has also spoken candidly about how demanding her life is as a primary caregiver. In February, she shared a photo highlighting her daily schedule, which included filming, laundry, and meal prep.
She pointed out that life as a working mother is far from easy, noting that she handles all of this without financial help from a trust fund. Despite the challenges of parenting and running her household, Willis has remained active in her acting career.
In late 2025, she guest-starred as Josie in the medical drama Dr. Odyssey, adding to her television credits. She also wrapped work on the independent Western Trail of Vengeance, where she plays Katherine, a widow seeking justice in the 1870s. Fans can expect to see her next in the thriller The Gun on Second Street, portraying Ashley Pullman.
Through it all, she continues to advocate for her parenting decisions and sets a clear example of putting her daughter and career first. With her recent Instagram post, Willis has shown that she won’t shy away from criticism. She makes it clear that while she welcomes support, judgment from others has no place in her personal choices.
