Silo is officially coming back in 2026, and fans now have a first look at season 3 thanks to a new teaser released by Apple TV+. The update also confirms the release date for the next chapter of the sci-fi series.

The show follows a future world where thousands of people live inside a massive underground structure called a silo. They believe the outside world is toxic and unlivable. The story is based on the books by Hugh Howey.

Season 2 ended on a major cliffhanger. Juliette Nichols and Bernard were left in a dangerous situation inside an incinerator. At the same time, the truth behind the silo system began to come closer to the surface.

The new teaser shows Juliette returning after what is described as a “cleaning,” but she is not the same. She appears changed and is dealing with memory loss. This adds a new layer to her journey as she tries to understand what is happening around her.

In the trailer, Juliette’s voice explains the direction of the new season. “Before we can know why we’re here, before we can know why everything is as it is, before we can know how it all will end, we need to understand how it all began,” she says.

The preview also shows scenes moving in reverse, along with quick flashes of strange images like explosions, objects from the past, and changes in the outside world. One of the final shots shows the wasteland above ground shifting into a greener, healthier place, hinting at deeper secrets about the world outside the silo.

The upcoming season will also explore events from the past, sometimes called the “Before Times,” including storylines involving Helen Drew and Congressman Daniel Keene as they investigate a larger hidden conspiracy.

Along with Rebecca Ferguson, the cast returning for season 3 includes several familiar names such as Common, Harriet Walter, Avi Nash, and others. New cast members joining the series include Ashley Zukerman, Jessica Henwick, Colin Hanks, and Steve Zahn.

According to Apple TV+, season 3 will launch on Friday, July 3, with new episodes releasing weekly until early September. The show has already been praised for its strong world-building, writing, and performances, earning high ratings from critics across its first two seasons.

This new season looks like it will expand the story in a big way, especially with the focus shifting to the origins of the silo system. Juliette’s memory loss also adds more tension and mystery. What do you think about this direction for the series? Share your thoughts in the comments.
