Jon Favreau has shared a new look at The Mandalorian & Grogu, giving fans a small preview of what’s coming in the upcoming movie. The reveal happened during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where host Jimmy Kimmel also showed a short clip from the film.

According to the segment on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the footage includes both action and humor. In the scene, Zeb Orrelios is seen fighting off Stormtroopers while moving with Din Djarin. They are transporting an Imperial figure named Janu. During the moment, Djarin tells Grogu to go to a control panel and press certain buttons. However, Grogu does not follow the instructions properly and presses the wrong ones instead. Zeb reacts to the situation and says, I don’t think he knows what he’s doing.

The new clip is only a small part of what has been shown so far. As reported from CinemaCon, the film also previewed a longer sequence for attendees. That footage included a meeting between Imperial members that turns violent. It also showed Djarin in combat as he fights through enemies and escapes with Grogu across a snowy area using a mechanical creature.

The story continues with Djarin meeting a New Republic officer named Colonel Ward. She gives him a mission to locate a missing commander. He is unsure about the task when he learns it involves dealing with Rotta the Hutt. Ward makes it clear that he does not have many other options if he refuses.

The movie is set to continue the story from the Disney+ series The Mandalorian, which ran for three seasons. Pedro Pascal returns in the lead role, along with a cast that includes Sigourney Weaver, Jeremy Allen White, Steve Blum, Jonny Coyne, and Matthew Willig.

The Mandalorian & Grogu is directed by Jon Favreau, who also worked on the script with Noah Kloor and Dave Filoni. The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters on May 22.

With both action scenes and lighter moments being teased, the movie looks like it will keep the same tone fans enjoyed in the series. Now it’s just a matter of seeing how the full story plays out on the big screen.
