Rebel Wilson Hit With Explosive Court Drama — Accused of Leaking Private Photo as Co-Star Calls Her ‘Abusive’
Rebel Wilson is at the center of a messy legal fight in Sydney, where she’s been accused of leaking a private nude photo of actress Charlotte MacInnes and called “abusive” during a heated defamation trial. The claims were made in court last Friday, according to reporting from The Sun, during proceedings involving Wilson and MacInnes.
MacInnes, who stars in “The Deb,” told the court in a sworn statement that her Snapchat account was allegedly hacked just days after she filed a defamation lawsuit against Wilson in September 2025. She claimed the hack led to a private nude image she had shared with her boyfriend being sent out to all of her contacts.
She described the situation as deeply distressing, saying in her statement, “It was completely terrifying and caused me a new kind of anxiety. I was not myself for some time after.”
Her boyfriend, Carlo Boumouglbay, also gave evidence supporting her claims. He said MacInnes became extremely fearful during the period, adding that she believed Wilson might be watching her. He said, “She was fearful for her safety and felt vulnerable.”
MacInnes also accused Wilson of hiring someone to carry out the hack shortly after the lawsuit was filed. The claim added another layer to an already tense legal battle between the two actresses.
Wilson strongly denied all allegations. In court, she pushed back hard against the hacking accusation, calling it baseless. She reportedly said, “That is absolutely an outrageous statement to make in court, that I moonlight as a hacker.”
The dispute is part of a wider defamation case tied to the film “The Deb,” which Wilson directed and co-starred in alongside MacInnes. MacInnes originally sued Wilson over claims that Wilson damaged her reputation by suggesting she was involved in covering up misconduct allegations connected to producer Amanda Ghost.
MacInnes also told the court that Wilson had allegedly used a PR firm to target Ghost and others involved with the film. Wilson has denied those claims as well, although court documents reportedly referenced a past agreement involving payments to a public relations company.
The case has also pulled in other industry figures, with accusations, denials, and internal disputes tied to the production of “The Deb” being aired in court.
Wilson is still facing multiple legal challenges connected to the project, including separate defamation claims from producers involved in the film.
The court case is ongoing in Sydney, and more testimony is expected as the trial continues.
