Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe is officially set for its North American release, with Bandai Namco Filmworks confirming the film will arrive in U.S. cinemas on May 15. Early screenings will begin a day earlier on May 14 in select theaters, and tickets are already available for fans to purchase.

This new film continues the Hathaway storyline that first appeared in 2021 with Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway. That earlier movie is set in the Universal Century timeline and follows Hathaway Noa, who becomes the leader of an anti-government group called Mafty. The story explores his conflict with the Earth Federation and the weight of his past connections to major figures like Amuro Ray and Char Aznable.

The first film was praised for its detailed animation and strong visual style. It also received mixed reactions for its darker scenes and the way it handled pacing. On review platforms, it holds an 86% critic score and a 77% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The new entry, The Sorcery of Nymph Circe, takes place years after those events. It continues Hathaway’s journey as he leads Mafty in a growing rebellion against the Federation. The group targets high-level government figures as tensions rise. At the same time, Hathaway is shown dealing with emotional pressure and personal conflict, especially after meeting a mysterious young woman named Gigi Andalucia. Her presence plays a key role in shaping the direction of the story.

The film also follows other key characters. Federation officer Kenneth Sleg is working on a counter-operation to stop Mafty. Another figure, Handley Yoxon from a criminal investigation unit, becomes involved with a separate secret agenda. Their paths begin to cross as the situation builds toward a major confrontation connected to a political event in Adelaide.

Fans attending the U.S. release will also get special bonuses in participating theaters. These include collectible cards featuring designs of the Gundam mobile suits from the film. The main machines highlighted are the Xi Gundam and the RX-104FF Penelope. Each card is designed with artwork based on key mecha from the movie, and there are three different versions available.

The Hathaway series continues to be a strong performer in Japan, where the franchise has already earned over 2.6 billion yen. The new film is directed by Shukou Murase and produced by Sunrise, with Kensho Ono returning to voice Hathaway Noa. The soundtrack also includes unexpected music choices, with tracks like Sweet Child O’ Mine by Guns N’ Roses and Snooze by SZA featured in the film.

With the U.S. release now confirmed, international fans will soon get to continue the story on the big screen.

This release is a big moment for Gundam fans outside Japan, especially since Hathaway has been building a strong reputation for its serious tone and detailed animation. It also feels like a film that tries to mix political drama with personal emotion, which is not always easy to balance in mecha stories.
