Steven Spielberg’s new sci-fi film “Disclosure Day” has released a fresh teaser, building early excitement ahead of its 2026 theatrical debut.

The teaser arrives with a bold message that sets the tone for the movie, saying: “You won’t be the same after. Disclosure Day only in theaters 06.12.26.”

The film is directed by Steven Spielberg and comes from a screenplay by David Koepp, based on a story developed by Spielberg himself. The project has been described as a UFO-focused science fiction thriller, bringing together a strong ensemble cast.

The story features Emily Blunt in the lead role as a Kansas City meteorologist with a background in journalism. She is joined by Josh O’Connor, who plays a cybersecurity expert and whistleblower. Colin Firth appears as the head of a powerful corporation, while Eve Hewson plays his girlfriend. Colman Domingo is also part of the cast as a former insider pushing for public disclosure. Wyatt Russell and several other supporting actors round out the ensemble.

Reports first surfaced in 2024 that Spielberg was developing a UFO-themed film, with Koepp attached early on. Universal Pictures later came on board as the distributor, and casting quickly followed over the next months. Filming took place in early 2025 across several US locations, including New York, New Jersey, and Atlanta.

Production wrapped later that spring, and the film has since moved into post-production. The music score is being handled by long-time Spielberg collaborator John Williams, marking another major reunion between the two.

“Disclosure Day” is now set for release in the United States on June 12, with an IMAX rollout planned.

From what’s been shared so far, this looks like a major sci-fi event film with a serious tone and a strong cast behind it. Spielberg returning to UFO themes also raises expectations, especially with this level of secrecy around the story. The teaser is short, but it clearly aims to build curiosity more than reveal details.
