‘King of the Hill’ Season 15 Gets an Official Premiere Date and First Poster, and Arlen Is Looking Better Than Ever

Few animated comebacks have felt as genuinely earned as the return of ‘King of the Hill.’ The beloved Mike Judge and Greg Daniels creation ran for 13 seasons on Fox from 1997 to 2010, building a fiercely loyal fanbase before the network pulled the plug. For 15 years, fans held out hope that Hank, Peggy, Bobby, and the rest of the Rainey Street crew would find their way back to television, and when Hulu finally ordered a revival, the response was nothing short of overwhelming.

Season 14, the first installment of the revival, was released on Hulu in August 2025, arriving nearly 15 years after the original series finale and picking up with the Hills returning to the fictional Arlen, Texas, after Hank’s stint working a propane job in Saudi Arabia. The show wasted no time reminding everyone exactly why it mattered.

The revival recorded 1.21 billion minutes of viewing time in its premiere week according to Nielsen, and Disney confirmed it was the best premiere for an adult animated series on Disney+ and Hulu in five years, drawing 4.4 million views worldwide in its first seven days.

Now, we have the first official poster for ‘King of the Hill’ Season 15, and with it comes the news fans have been waiting for. The new season, which will be the show’s 15th overall, will debut all 10 episodes on July 20. The key art shows the familiar alley lineup, with Bill, Hank, Dale, and Boomhauer gathered in their usual spots, and from the new art, it appears Hank may also be considering getting a new dog to finally fill the hole left by his beloved bloodhound Lady Bird.

The official logline for the season reads that Hank and Peggy settle into retirement life on Rainey Street while attempting to keep their neighbors from going off the rails, while Bobby navigates old friendships alongside the stresses of being an entrepreneur.

Original cast members Mike Judge, Kathy Najimy, Pamela Adlon, Stephen Root, Lauren Tom, and Toby Huss all return, with Huss having taken over the role of Dale Gribble following the death of Johnny Hardwick. Sadly, the series also lost Jonathan Joss, who voiced John Redcorn, in 2025, meaning Season 15 will move forward without two of its original beloved performers.

Ahead of the July premiere, the creative team including Judge, Daniels, and showrunner Saladin Patterson are set to present a preview of the season at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in June, where Judge will also receive the Honorary Cristal and deliver a masterclass on animation.

With Hulu having already renewed the show for two additional seasons bringing it through Season 17, the revival is no brief experiment but a full reinvestment in one of animation’s most quietly beloved properties.

Season 15 of ‘King of the Hill’ hits Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ on July 20, and all signs point to Arlen being in very good hands. Share your thoughts in the comments below.
