Odessa A’zion made her first appearance at the Met Gala this year, and her look quickly got attention for its personal and bold style choices. The event, known for its high-fashion red carpet, took place under the 2026 theme “Fashion Is Art,” which connects to the The Metropolitan Museum of Art spring exhibition focused on the relationship between clothing and art.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, A’zion shared that she was closely involved in her own glam process for the night. She explained that she didn’t rely on a full team for her hair and makeup.

“I do my hair and makeup myself,” she said.

When asked if that was normal for her, she explained her reasons in a very direct way. “Yeah, I just have a problem with too many people touching me at once. I don’t like it. And I also just am so specific.”

For the event, she chose a softer makeup look with small jewels placed on her face. Her hair was styled in thick curls using extensions, since she had recently cut her hair short for a film role.

“They chopped my hair off for a movie, so it’s extensions,” she said. “Yeah, my hair is shoulder-length right now. I miss it.”

Her outfit was a custom look from Valentino. It featured a black corset and a long jacket, both detailed with colorful leaf-shaped designs and beadwork across the fabric. The look also included tights, thigh-high boots, and jewelry from Pandora with butterfly, flower, and heart designs.

A’zion also spoke about what she was most looking forward to during the night. She said the highlight would come after everything was over. “I think the best part will be when we can all relax and I can take it off, ‘cause I’m a little bit— I can’t breathe that much right now,” she said, referring to her corset.

This year’s Met Gala brought together a long list of well-known names from fashion, film, and music, with guests including Blake Lively, Sabrina Carpenter, Teyana Taylor, Margot Robbie, and Zoë Kravitz.
