“Daredevil: Born Again” Season 3 Timeline Revealed by Marvel Producer
Matt Murdock’s next chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is already taking shape, and new details about Daredevil: Born Again season 3 have now been revealed. According to ScreenRant, Marvel Studios is planning a small time jump for the next season following the dramatic ending of season 2.
Brad Winderbaum, Marvel’s Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation, confirmed that the story will move forward by around a year after Matt publicly revealed he was Daredevil. Speaking to ScreenRant, he explained, “There will be a small time jump, but it’s not too significant. It’s not like we’re jumping ahead five years or anything. We’re probably jumping ahead a year or so, kind of like the real-life distance between seasons.”
The update comes while production on Daredevil: Born Again season 3 is already moving ahead. Showrunner Dario Scardapane recently told Entertainment Weekly that filming is progressing quickly and scripts are nearly complete. He said, “I’m writing the finale right now. We wrap in early July at this point. So we’re right about the halfway mark.” He also confirmed that most of the season has already been written while filming continues on later episodes.

Season 2 ended with Matt Murdock’s life completely changing after he exposed himself as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen. Although he managed to stop Wilson Fisk’s rise to power, Matt paid a heavy price and ended the season behind bars. The new season is expected to take inspiration from Marvel’s famous “The Devil in Cell-Block D” storyline from Ed Brubaker’s comic run.
Several familiar faces from Marvel’s Netflix era are also returning. Krysten Ritter is set to appear again as Jessica Jones after her comeback in season 2. Set photos have also revealed that Mike Colter and Finn Jones will return as Luke Cage and Danny Rand. Luke Cage briefly appeared during the season 2 finale alongside Jessica and their daughter Danielle, setting up a larger reunion moving forward.
Marvel’s street-level corner of the MCU is also expanding beyond Daredevil. Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle will return in The Punisher: One Last Kill, which premieres May 12, before appearing again in Spider-Man: Brand New Day later in 2026.
According to the latest reports, Daredevil: Born Again season 3 is expected to continue Matt Murdock’s story in 2027.
