Production has officially started on A Quiet Place Part III, and John Krasinski shared the first update directly from New York City.

The actor and filmmaker posted a photo on Instagram showing the movie slate in front of the Manhattan Bridge Arch and Colonnade in Chinatown. Along with the image, Krasinski wrote, “Here. We. Go! #Part III.” According to his post, filming for the next chapter in the horror franchise is now underway.

A Quiet Place Part III is set to arrive in theaters on July 30, 2027. Krasinski returns as writer, director, and producer for the new film after leading the first two movies in the series.

Emily Blunt has officially signed on to return as Evelyn Abbott. Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe are also coming back as Regan and Marcus Abbott, continuing the family’s story after the events of A Quiet Place Part II.

Cillian Murphy will return as Emmett after joining the franchise in the second film. New cast members for the movie include Jack O’Connell, Jason Clarke, and Katy O’Brian.

The original A Quiet Place was released in 2018 and became a major hit. The story followed a family trying to survive in a world taken over by dangerous creatures that hunt by sound. Krasinski also appeared in the first film as Lee Abbott, who sacrifices himself to save his family. Even after the character’s death, Lee returned in flashback scenes in Part II.

The franchise expanded in 2024 with A Quiet Place: Day One, directed by Michael Sarnoski. That film explored the beginning of the alien invasion in New York City and starred Lupita Nyong’o, Joseph Quinn, Djimon Hounsou, and Alex Wolff.

Reports about a third main movie have been around for several years. In 2021, Emily Blunt revealed that Krasinski already had plans for another sequel. She explained at the time that the series was always meant to tell a larger story across multiple films.

Paramount Pictures will release the film in the United States on July 30, 2027. The movie was originally planned for an earlier July release date before being pushed back later in the month.
