Fans watching The Devil Wears Prada 2 were surprised to see that one of its actors was almost impossible to recognize on screen. The actor in question is Justin Theroux, whose appearance in the film has left many viewers confused and even searching online to figure out if it was really him.

According to audience reactions shared on social media, Theroux’s role is so heavily transformed that some fans did not realize he was in the movie at all, even after seeing his name in the opening credits alongside stars like Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, and Emily Blunt.

In the sequel, Theroux plays Benji Barnes, a tech billionaire who becomes involved with Emily’s character. His role is small but very noticeable once viewers realize who he is. The character is shown as loud, arrogant, and obsessed with artificial intelligence, often making exaggerated claims about technology replacing human jobs. His look is also very different, with heavy makeup and a stylized appearance that changes his face on screen.

Because of this transformation, many viewers were left guessing during the movie. Some fans even posted online that they were waiting for Theroux to appear, not realizing he had already been on screen.

“The funniest part of the role was just how ridiculous he is,” Theroux said. “He’s such an idiot.” He added, “Being funny, wearing ridiculous clothes… I’ve got this crazy hair, I’m bald in parts, and then hair is falling out — that was the most fun.”

Outside the film, Theroux has also been in the spotlight recently because of changes in his appearance in real life. At a premiere event for his series Fallout, some fans commented that he looked different compared to before, which sparked online discussion.
