“My Adventures With Superman” is bringing another major DC character into its world ahead of the show’s third season. Actor Darren Criss has officially joined the animated series as Connor Kent, better known to comic fans as Superboy.

The casting news was revealed as part of Collider’s Summer Preview event, which also included a new first look at Connor Kent in the upcoming season. The character is one of the most popular younger heroes connected to Superman in DC Comics history, and his arrival could add a completely new emotional layer to the series.

“My Adventures With Superman” has become popular with fans because it focuses heavily on Clark Kent’s personal life and relationships instead of only giant superhero battles. Even as the show keeps expanding its version of the DC Universe, the emotional side of the story has remained at the center. That makes Connor Kent feel like a natural addition to the series.

In DC Comics, Connor is usually portrayed as a clone created using both Kryptonian and human DNA. Many of his stories deal with identity, family, and trying to understand where he belongs in the world. Those themes fit closely with the tone of the animated series, which has spent most of its run exploring Clark’s struggle to balance his humanity with being Superman.

Collider noted that Connor’s introduction could create entirely new storylines connected to Clark’s understanding of responsibility and legacy. The series has always treated Superman as more than just a powerful hero, and Connor’s arrival may push those ideas even further in Season 3.

Darren Criss already has experience with DC projects before joining the show. Along with starring in series like Glee, he previously voiced Superman in animated DC movies including Superman: Man of Tomorrow. This time, however, he will be stepping into a very different role within the Superman universe.

Season 3 will continue following Clark Kent as he becomes more comfortable with his Kryptonian origins while fully embracing life as Superman. At the same time, Lois Lane continues building her journalism career, while Jimmy Olsen and Kara Zor-El are still trying to figure out their own places in the growing DC world around them.

The new season will once again feature Jack Quaid as Clark Kent, Alice Lee as Lois Lane, Ishmel Sahid as Jimmy Olsen, and Kiana Madeira as Kara Zor-El. The show is executive produced by James Gunn, Peter Safran, and Sam Register.

“My Adventures With Superman” Season 3 premieres June 13 on Adult Swim before streaming the following day on HBO Max.
