New behind-the-scenes photos from the filming of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 2 have surfaced online, giving fans an early look at the production while it is still underway. The information comes from on-location reports and images shared by photographer Piotr Drezinski on Instagram.

Season 2 of the HBO series began filming as early as December 2025, even before the first season has premiered. The production has been moving quickly, with the cast and crew aiming to avoid long gaps between seasons. After filming in Belfast, Ireland, the team moved to Spain, where star Peter Claffey has also shared updates from the set on social media.

Filming briefly faced disruption in April when a historic flood affected parts of Gran Canaria. The production was forced to relocate temporarily, but has since returned to the island and resumed shooting. According to reports, the team is currently continuing work in different locations across Gran Canaria.

The newest update comes from Piotr Drezinski, who posted two images from the set. One shows five characters standing together during a sunset, with only their silhouettes visible. A rider on horseback is positioned in the center of the group, believed to be Dunk, although it is not officially confirmed whether it is Peter Claffey or a stunt performer.

A second image shared by Drezinski shows a lone rider moving down a hillside in daylight. The photographer suggested this could also be Dunk, but did not confirm the identity of the actor in the shot.

In his caption, Drezinski explained that filming was happening very close to where he lives. He said the production was taking place “literally in front of my house.” He also noted that the shoot in that specific area appeared to be finishing, suggesting the crew may soon move to another filming location on the island. He later clarified on Facebook that the scenes were filmed near Juncalillo, with additional work taking place around Artenara.

Reports from Los Siete Reinos also indicate that production has been active at La Fortaleza, a location in Santa Lucía de Tirajana. It is still unclear how long filming will continue in Gran Canaria, although earlier reports suggested Season 2 could wrap around June before the weather disruption changed schedules.

The new images have quickly spread among fans of Game of Thrones and its spin-off universe. Many have been discussing Dunk’s appearance, especially his hairstyle. Peter Claffey previously confirmed that his character would have longer hair in Season 2, which matches descriptions from the source material.

“It’s a lot of fun this year and I’ve got long hair this time!” Claffey said earlier in an interview. “So hopefully the book lovers and the book fans will be happy with that fact.”

Claffey also spoke about the upcoming story adaptation. Season 2 will reportedly adapt the novella The Sworn Sword from George R.R. Martin’s Tales of Dunk and Egg series. The story follows Dunk and Egg as they travel into the Reach and encounter new characters and challenges. Claffey has previously described it as his favorite installment in the series, calling it a more emotional and tragic story compared to the first season’s events.

With filming still ongoing, more set photos and updates are expected as production continues across Spain.
