A viral post from The Boys star Antony Starr has sparked attention online after he shared behind-the-scenes images from the show, including a controversial moment at Frenchie’s grave.

Starr, who plays Homelander in the series, posted the images on Instagram with the caption, “Found all these beautiful BTS things. More to come.” Among the photos was a scene showing him in a graveyard setting connected to Frenchie’s storyline, which quickly drew reactions from fans due to its dark and unusual tone, and due to the fact that it appears as if he is pissing on his grave.

Frenchie’s character had already reached a tragic end in the final season of The Boys, Season 5, Episode 7.

In the story, Frenchie sacrifices himself during a mission that goes wrong when Homelander attacks the team’s hideout. To protect Kimiko and help complete the plan, he ends up trapping himself in a highly dangerous radiation chamber. The exposure proves fatal, and although he survives long enough to escape the immediate blast zone, he later dies in Kimiko’s arms. His final moments are emotional and directly tied to his bond with her.

Frenchie’s death becomes one of the emotional anchors of the final episodes. His loss affects the remaining members of the group and plays a major role in Kimiko’s journey during the final confrontation. Before the last battle, she struggles to use the power he helped create, overwhelmed by grief and anger.

In a key moment, she experiences a vision of Frenchie, who encourages her to stay grounded. He tells her, “Rage is not what makes you strong… It has always been yours.” This helps her regain control and continue the fight against Homelander.

After the final battle, the series ends with a quieter resolution for Kimiko. She honors Frenchie’s memory by following through on their shared dream of traveling to France, symbolizing the emotional closure of their relationship.

The BTS images shared by Antony Starr appear to reference this storyline in a more playful or provocative behind-the-scenes context, something that is not unusual for cast members of The Boys, a series known for its dark humor and shocking tone.
