Marvel fans are once again trying to figure out which surprise characters could appear in Avengers: Doomsday after a new report claimed several actors have secretly already filmed scenes for the movie.

According to information shared by Alex Perez through The Cosmic Circus Q&A, there are reportedly “8-9 more” actors connected to the film who still have not been officially announced by Marvel Studios.

The comment came after a fan asked whether more familiar MCU characters could appear in the movie, including characters like Wong.

Perez responded, “There’s at least 8-9 more that haven’t been confirmed yet that I know have filmed things on set.”

The statement immediately sparked speculation online, especially because Avengers: Doomsday is already shaping up to be one of Marvel’s biggest crossover projects ever. The movie is expected to bring together heroes and characters from several different Marvel universes, including the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, Wakandans, and even characters from the older X-Men films.

The film will feature Robert Downey Jr. returning to the Marvel universe in a completely different role. Instead of playing Iron Man again, Downey is set to portray Doctor Doom, one of Marvel’s most famous villains. The movie is directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo, who previously directed Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

Marvel has already confirmed a massive cast that includes Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, and Ian McKellen returning as Magneto.

Several actors from the original X-Men movies are also coming back, including Patrick Stewart as Professor X, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Rebecca Romijn as Mystique. The movie appears to be heavily focused on the idea of different universes colliding together.

Because of that setup, fans believe the unconfirmed actors could include almost anyone from Marvel’s past. Online theories have already started spreading around possible appearances from characters like Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Deadpool, Scarlet Witch, or even older Marvel movie characters from outside the MCU timeline.

The movie itself has already gone through major changes behind the scenes. Originally, Marvel planned to make Avengers: The Kang Dynasty as the next major crossover event. However, after legal issues involving actor Jonathan Majors, the studio reportedly shifted direction and moved away from the Kang storyline entirely.

That eventually led to the return of the Russo brothers and the introduction of Doctor Doom as the franchise’s next major villain. Marvel officially announced the new title, Avengers: Doomsday, in 2024.

Filming reportedly took place between April and September 2025 at Pinewood Studios in England, along with additional location shooting in Bahrain. Since production has already wrapped, it is possible that Marvel is now trying to keep several surprise appearances secret until closer to release.

At the moment, Marvel has not officially confirmed the rumored mystery actors. Still, the report from The Cosmic Circus has added even more excitement around a film that already has one of the largest casts in superhero movie history.

Avengers: Doomsday is currently scheduled to release in theaters on December 18.
