Jennifer Lopez’s ‘Office Romance’ Takes Over Netflix’s Global Charts
Jennifer Lopez has another Netflix hit on her hands. Her new romantic comedy Office Romance, co-starring Brett Goldstein, has made a strong start on the streaming platform and is already one of the biggest movie releases of the year for Netflix.
Released on June 5, Office Romance tells the story of an airline CEO whose strict workplace dating policy is challenged when a new lawyer enters her life. The film quickly connected with audiences around the world, helping it reach the top of Netflix’s global movie rankings during its first week.
According to Netflix’s official weekly Top 10 report, Office Romance recorded 40.1 million hours viewed between June 1 and June 7. That translated to 20.9 million views, making it the most-watched movie on the service during the week.

Additional data from FlixPatrol shows the movie building momentum almost immediately after its release. The film earned 823 global points on its first tracked day and climbed to 890 points on day two. It then reached 899 points on day three before finishing day four with 898 points. The movie also increased its number of first-place rankings across countries, showing strong interest from viewers worldwide.

The strongest performance came from English-speaking markets and Europe. In the United States, Office Romance debuted at number one and stayed there throughout its opening weekend. The United Kingdom saw the film begin in second place before quickly moving to the top position.
Major European countries such as France and Germany also embraced the movie, while Brazil delivered similarly strong results. Mexico proved to be another reliable market, although the film remained in second place during its first few days.
The picture was slightly different across parts of Asia. According to FlixPatrol data, India opened with the movie at number eight before it moved up to fifth place. South Korea and Japan were slower to react. The film did not enter the Top 10 on its first day in either country, but both markets showed growth over the following days, with South Korea reaching fourth place and Japan climbing to seventh.
When compared to Netflix’s other movie releases from 2026, Office Romance has performed well, although action films still lead the pack. Data compiled by Netflix shows The Rip delivered the biggest opening week with 41.6 million views, followed by War Machine with 39.3 million and Apex with 38.2 million. Office Romance secured sixth place overall with 20.9 million views, finishing ahead of fellow romantic comedy People We Meet on Vacation, which opened with 17.2 million views.

The movie also faces tough competition when compared with Jennifer Lopez’s previous Netflix projects. Both The Mother and Atlas generated larger opening-week audiences. The Mother remains Lopez’s strongest Netflix debut with 42.9 million views during its first week, while Atlas reached 28.2 million. Office Romance follows in third place with 20.9 million views. However, those films belonged to the action genre, which traditionally attracts larger opening-week audiences on Netflix.
Among romantic comedies, the story looks much more positive. Based on Netflix viewing data, Office Romance ranks among the stronger rom-com launches on the platform. Only a small number of titles, including Your Place or Mine and A Family Affair, managed to attract more viewers during their opening period.
While it may not have matched the explosive numbers of Netflix’s biggest action releases, Office Romance has still delivered an impressive debut. With strong rankings across major markets and continued momentum during its first week, Jennifer Lopez’s latest film is proving that romantic comedies can still be major global events on Netflix.
