Millie Bobby Brown has spoken kindly about her long working relationship with David Harbour, reflecting on the years they spent together on Stranger Things. Her comments come from a Variety interview excerpt included in a larger profile on Harbour published by Variety.

Brown and Harbour have played Eleven and Jim Hopper since the first season of the Netflix series. Their characters share a close bond on screen, often shaped like a father and daughter relationship. After nearly a decade of working together, Brown looked back on that experience with appreciation.

She said, “Obviously I changed so much from Season 1 to Season 5, and David was there through all of it.” She explained that their working relationship grew over time and became more collaborative as the show progressed. According to her, they were able to push each other more in emotional scenes as they understood their characters and each other better.

Brown also spoke about how meaningful the experience was for her personally. She made it clear that even though the show has now ended, the time she spent working with Harbour will stay with her. She said, “Over time, our relationship became much more collaborative creatively. When you work with someone for that many years, we could really push each other emotionally in scenes. Even though the series has ended, there’s still a lot of gratitude. Getting to share that experience with him for so many years is something I’ll always remember and value.”

Her words focused on gratitude and long-term respect. The statement suggests that the bond they built during filming went beyond just acting. It was shaped by years of shared work, long shooting schedules, and emotional storylines between their characters.

The quote also appears in a wider conversation about David Harbour’s career and his time on Stranger Things. The Variety feature explored his role on the show, his later projects, and how public attention around him has changed over time. Brown’s comments were included as part of that profile, highlighting her perspective as a key co-star.

Stranger Things, created by the Duffer Brothers for Netflix, became one of the platform’s biggest global hits. It follows a group of kids in a small town who deal with strange events connected to a secret government lab and a dark parallel world. Harbour’s character Jim Hopper became a central figure in the story, especially in his protective relationship with Eleven, played by Brown.

Over the years, fans have often pointed to the emotional connection between Hopper and Eleven as one of the most important parts of the show. That on-screen relationship also helped shape the real working dynamic between the actors, according to Brown’s comments.

Now that Stranger Things has wrapped its main story, both actors are moving on to new projects. Still, Brown’s words show that her experience on the series remains important to her. She did not focus on drama or distance, but instead on growth, teamwork, and respect built over many years of working side by side with Harbour.
