Sydney Sweeney Wants Fans to See Cut ‘Euphoria’ Pole-Dancing Scene
Sydney Sweeney has revealed that a deleted scene from Euphoria’s final season could still be released in the future, sparking fresh interest among fans of the hit HBO series. The information comes from an interview she gave to Vanity Fair, where she discussed the cut moment and her experience filming it.
Sweeney said the scene focused on her character Cassie, who was originally meant to go through a chaotic storyline involving a visit to a strip club with Maddy, played by Alexa Demie. In the scene, Cassie gets caught up in the environment and impulsively decides to go on stage herself. According to Sweeney, the moment was meant to show Cassie in a wild and unpredictable state, something that fits the character’s emotional instability in the series.
The actress explained that she prepared seriously for the sequence, even taking pole-dancing lessons ahead of filming. She said the experience was both challenging and fun, and it gave her a new appreciation for performers who do it professionally. Sweeney described the idea behind the scene as something humorous and chaotic, saying she thought it would have shown a different side of Cassie’s personality.
However, the scene never made it into the final cut of the season. Series creator Sam Levinson ultimately decided that it did not fit the pacing and direction of the story. Sweeney said she understood the decision, even though she was slightly disappointed that the work never appeared on screen.
According to Sweeney, there has been discussion about possibly releasing the footage as bonus material or deleted scenes in the future. She said she would be open to that idea and even supportive of fans getting to see what was filmed.
In the same interview, Sweeney also spoke about her long journey playing Cassie since 2019. She explained that each season of Euphoria has been emotionally demanding and intense, with the cast often working under the assumption that it could be the final season. That uncertainty made every filming experience feel meaningful and sometimes emotional for the actors involved.

Sweeney added that Cassie has been one of the most difficult roles of her career. She described the character as emotionally complex and unpredictable, saying it has pushed her into scenes and performances she would not normally explore in other roles. Despite the challenges, she said she enjoys the depth the character allows her to explore.
The conversation around the deleted scene has renewed interest in Euphoria, especially among fans who are curious about unseen material from the show’s later production stages. While nothing has been confirmed, Sweeney’s comments suggest that the footage may not be gone forever.
For now, the scene remains unreleased, but the possibility of it appearing as bonus content continues to excite viewers who follow the series closely.
