Sadie Sink Is All Smiles on the ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Press Tour as Jean Grey Mystery Reaches a Fever Pitch
The promotional tour for Spider-Man: Brand New Day is officially underway, and new press images have sparked even more discussion about Sadie Sink’s mysterious role in the upcoming Marvel film.
In newly shared images from June 10, Sink appears alongside Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon as the main cast begins promotional work for the film. The photos quickly spread across social media, with fans reacting to the return of familiar Spider-Man characters as well as Sink’s addition to the franchise.
Sink joined the cast in March 2025 in a role that has not yet been officially revealed. Since her casting announcement, Marvel has kept details about her character tightly under wraps. Over time, speculation about her role has only increased, especially as more promotional material continues to avoid giving any clear answers.
During a January 2026 appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Sink spoke briefly about the secrecy surrounding the project. She described the experience as difficult, saying it was much harder than keeping secrets from her previous work on Stranger Things. According to Sink, the Marvel project required a much higher level of confidentiality due to the scale of the storyline.
One of the most popular theories among fans is that Sink is playing Jean Grey, one of the most well-known characters in Marvel’s X-Men universe. This idea has circulated widely since her casting was first announced. Some entertainment insiders have also reported the same possibility, though Marvel has not confirmed anything officially.
Additional speculation has come from set details and promotional materials. Early descriptions of Sink’s character have referred to her in vague terms, without naming her or confirming her abilities. This has led fans to continue guessing about whether she is connected to mutant storylines or playing a completely original character.
Reports from early test screenings have added more attention to her role. According to unnamed sources, Sink’s performance has stood out strongly among audiences who have seen early versions of the film. Some reactions have even described her as one of the most memorable parts of the movie, although no official reviews have been released.
The idea that she could be Jean Grey has also gained traction due to Marvel’s broader plans for mutants in the MCU. The studio is preparing several projects that involve X-Men characters, and introducing a younger version of Jean Grey in a Spider-Man film would connect different parts of the franchise in a new way.
On the press tour, Sink appears alongside established MCU stars Tom Holland and Zendaya, who are continuing their roles from earlier Spider-Man films. Their group dynamic has been noted by fans as familiar and comfortable, with Sink fitting into the team as the newest addition.
Sony Pictures Netherlands has also announced a global fan event scheduled for June 17 in Amsterdam. The event is expected to include new material from the film, though it is not confirmed whether Sink’s role will finally be revealed.
For now, Marvel continues to keep details about her character secret, and the speculation around her identity remains one of the biggest talking points leading up to the film’s release
