Austin Powers fans finally received a new update about a possible fourth movie, and Mike Myers did not hesitate when asked if he would return as the famous spy character.

During an appearance on comedian Trevor Noah’s FIFA World Cup livestream watch party on Tuesday, June 16, Myers was asked directly if audiences would ever see Austin Powers 4. The actor gave a very short answer that immediately caught attention.

“Yes,” Myers replied when Noah asked about the possibility of another movie in the comedy franchise.

The quick response surprised Noah, who laughed and said, “Wow. That was a quick yes.”

Myers appeared on the livestream alongside his 14-year-old son, Spike. During the broadcast, Noah was taking questions from viewers through YouTube’s live chat when the Austin Powers question came up. The moment quickly became one of the most talked-about parts of the stream.

Myers created one of his most famous characters with Austin Powers, a British spy who became a parody of classic 1960s secret agent movies. The character first appeared in 1997’s Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, followed by Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me in 1999 and Austin Powers in Goldmember in 2002.

The films became popular because of their unusual humor, over-the-top characters, and Myers’ ability to play multiple roles. Along with Austin Powers, Myers also portrayed the villain Dr. Evil, who became one of the franchise’s most recognizable characters.

The third movie, Austin Powers in Goldmember, featured a large cast including Beyoncé, Michael Caine, Seth Green, and Verne Troyer. The film also included surprise appearances from stars such as Tom Cruise, Steven Spielberg, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Britney Spears.

Although a fourth movie has never officially entered production, Myers has talked about the idea for years. According to previous interviews, he has had conversations about continuing the story and has even suggested that a possible fourth movie could focus more on Dr. Evil.

In a 2005 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Myers said he was discussing ideas with the studio behind the franchise. Later, in a 2007 interview with IGN, he revealed that there was already a concept for another film.

More recently, Myers has continued to show interest in returning to the character. During a 2022 interview with SiriusXM’s Jess Cagle, the actor gave a playful response when asked about Austin Powers 4, saying, “I can neither confirm nor deny the existence or non-existence of such a project, should it exist or not exist.” However, he also added that he would love to make another movie.

In 2024, during an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Myers was asked if the Austin Powers series still had more stories to tell. His answer was simple: “Absolutely.”

While fans have speculated that Myers’ son Spike could potentially appear as a younger version of Austin Powers or as his son, Spike joked during the livestream that acting is not currently his focus. He told Noah that he had not seriously pursued acting and even joked, “I actually almost failed my theater class recently.”

For now, there are no official details about the story, cast, or production plans for Austin Powers 4. However, Myers’ latest comment gives fans hope that the long-awaited sequel could finally move closer to becoming reality.

Before returning as Austin Powers, Myers will appear in another major comeback role. He is set to voice Shrek again in Shrek 5, which is scheduled to arrive in theaters in June 2027.
