Angelina Jolie Stuns in Timeless Black Dress at ‘Couture’ Premiere
Angelina Jolie once again proved that simple fashion can make the biggest statement. While promoting her new film “Couture,” the actress stepped onto the red carpet in New York City wearing a classic black Tom Ford dress that showed off her signature elegant style.
Jolie attended the film’s premiere on June 16 at The Whitby Hotel, where she arrived wearing a stylish ivory coat over her outfit. The actress kept the full look hidden at first, creating a small fashion moment before revealing the black gown underneath.
Jolie completed the outfit with gold earrings, black patent heels, sunglasses, and a slim watch. Once inside the premiere, she removed the coat and allowed the simple but striking dress to become the focus.
The black Tom Ford design, created under the direction of designer Haider Ackermann, featured a strapless shape with a soft sweetheart neckline. Instead of heavy decorations or flashy details, the dress relied on its clean shape and elegant fabric to stand out.
The look fits perfectly with Jolie’s style during the “Couture” promotional tour. Although the actress has access to some of the world’s top fashion designers, she has mostly avoided dramatic couture pieces and chosen a more classic approach.
Jolie has repeatedly returned to black dresses throughout her career. From major award shows to movie premieres, the actress has built a reputation for wearing simple gowns that still feel memorable.
Her recent “Couture” appearances have followed a similar pattern. During the San Sebastian International Film Festival in 2025, Jolie wore a black velvet slip dress from Italian brand Forte_Forte while promoting the movie. Later, at the Rome Film Festival, she continued the theme with a black midi dress from Alberta Ferretti’s Fall 2025 collection.
Each outfit has had a different design, showing that Jolie’s love for black does not mean repeating the same look. Some dresses have focused on structure, while others have highlighted movement, fabric, or small details.
The choice also connects with her role in “Couture.” In the film, Jolie plays Maxine, an American filmmaker who enters the world of Paris Fashion Week as an outsider. Instead of becoming part of the fashion world, her character observes it from the outside.

Because of that, Jolie’s more minimal style during the press tour feels fitting. Rather than wearing outfits that directly copy the fashion industry shown in the movie, she has chosen a quieter approach.
The actress has spent decades becoming known for her ability to make a simple black dress feel special. Her latest premiere look continues that tradition, proving that elegance does not always require bright colors, large accessories, or over-the-top designs.
With the “Couture” press tour still continuing, fans will be watching to see whether Jolie keeps her black dress streak going. While she has stayed consistent with the color, each appearance has brought something different, leaving room for another memorable fashion moment.
