‘Stranger Things’ Cast Has Its Own West End Reunion as Charlie Heaton Shows Up for Sadie Sink’s Final Week of ‘Romeo & Juliet’
The bonds forged on the set of ‘Stranger Things’ clearly run deeper than Hawkins, Indiana. A clip circulating on X, originally sourced from the TikTok account randella online, captured Sadie Sink leaving the Harold Pinter Theatre in London late on June 19, accompanied by her former co-star Charlie Heaton, generating over 331,000 views within hours and sparking a wave of warmth from fans of the long-running Netflix series.
The timing of Heaton’s appearance is notable, as ‘Romeo & Juliet’ is in its final days, with the production’s strictly limited run set to close on June 20. The fact that he made the trip to see Sink perform suggests the ‘Stranger Things’ family is showing up in force for the closing stretch of what has been one of London’s most talked-about theatrical events of the year.
The West End production marks Sink’s debut on the London stage, a milestone she secured after a string of acclaimed stage work that includes a Tony nomination for her Broadway role in ‘John Proctor Is the Villain.’ Opposite her as Romeo is Noah Jupe, best known for the ‘A Quiet Place’ films, making his own West End debut alongside Sink.
Director Robert Icke’s production centres around a striking countdown clock, tracking the story’s action from Sunday morning through to Wednesday evening and forcing audiences to feel the brutal speed at which the tragedy unfolds. Critics responded enthusiastically, with London Theatre describing Sink as luminous in what they called Icke’s time-bending production.
Heaton, who plays Jonathan Byers in ‘Stranger Things’ and has been in a relationship with co-star Natalia Dyer since 2017, has spoken warmly about the bonds the cast has built over the years. His presence at the Harold Pinter Theatre reads less like a celebrity sighting and more like a close friend making sure he catches the show before the curtain falls for good.
The production, which began performances on March 18, had already proven so popular that it was extended by a week before its initial run was up, adding extra performances to meet demand. The extension itself became a story, reflecting just how hungry London audiences have been for this particular pairing of rising stars and bold direction.
Sink’s calendar shows no signs of slowing down after the West End closes, with the actress set to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ and plans to reprise the role in ‘Avengers: Secret Wars.’ For now though, with the curtain nearly down and former cast mates stopping by to say goodbye to Juliet, the ‘Stranger Things’ reunion energy feels entirely fitting for a story that has always been about how the people around you show up when it matters most.
