Netflix’s live-action One Piece is moving closer to its next big adventure, as Season 3 has officially finished filming. The upcoming season, titled One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta, will bring Luffy and the Straw Hat crew into one of the most famous story arcs from Eiichiro Oda’s manga.

The production update was shared by the team behind the series, confirming that filming has wrapped with Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu Arata, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero Gibson, and Taz Skylar returning as the main members of the Straw Hat Pirates.

A new behind-the-scenes image was also released to celebrate the end of production, giving fans a small look at what is coming next.

Season 3 will take the crew to the desert kingdom of Alabasta, where they will become involved in a conflict that could decide the future of the entire country. The story will focus on Princess Vivi and her struggle to save her home from a growing rebellion that is secretly controlled by Sir Crocodile and his criminal organization, Baroque Works.

According to Netflix’s official description, the new season will follow the Straw Hats as they face “a brewing civil war and a powerful warlord” while trying to protect Vivi’s kingdom from destruction.

The main threat this time comes from Crocodile, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea and the leader of Baroque Works. Joe Manganiello will play the villain, also known as Mr. 0, bringing one of Luffy’s most dangerous enemies into the live-action series.

The cast will also introduce several important characters from the Alabasta storyline. These include Charithra Chandran returning as Princess Vivi, Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefertari Cobra, and Lera Abova as Miss All Sunday. Other new additions include Cole Escola as Bon Clay, Xolo Maridueña as Portgas D. Ace, Awdo Awdo as Mr. 1, and Daisy Head as Miss Doublefinger.

Bon Clay, also known as Bentham or Mr. 2 Bon Kurei, is one of the most beloved characters from the original manga, and his arrival has already created excitement among fans. Ace’s appearance is also expected to be a major moment, as the character has a deep connection to Luffy and plays an important role in the wider One Piece story.

The third season follows the success of Netflix’s first live-action One Piece season, which introduced audiences around the world to Godoy’s Luffy, Mackenyu’s Zoro, Rudd’s Nami, Gibson’s Usopp, and Skylar’s Sanji. The series became one of Netflix’s biggest hits and helped prove that anime adaptations could work in live action.

The production team behind Season 3 remains connected to the original series. Joe Tracz and Ian Stokes serve as writers, co-showrunners, and executive producers. One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda is also returning as an executive producer, alongside Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Tetsu Fujimura, Chris Symes, Christoph Schrewe, and Steven Maeda.

The live-action series is produced by Tomorrow Studios in partnership with Shueisha and Netflix. While Netflix has not announced the exact release date yet, Season 3 is expected to arrive in 2027.

With filming now complete, fans are waiting for the first full trailer and more details about how the series will bring the massive Alabasta storyline to life. The next chapter of Luffy’s journey is set to introduce bigger battles, new characters, and one of the most important adventures in the One Piece world.
