Charlie Cox and Elodie Yung Just Reunited on Set, and Fans Are Losing It Over ‘Daredevil Born Again’ Season 3

Marvel’s New York-based street-level corner of the MCU has been quietly turning into one giant Netflix reunion, and ‘Daredevil, Born Again’ Season 3 keeps adding new pieces to that puzzle. What started as a modest revival built around Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio has steadily transformed into something much bigger in scope.

Season 3 picks up in a genuinely rough place for Matt Murdock, who ended the previous season disbarred and behind bars after revealing his secret identity in open court to save Karen Page and expose Wilson Fisk. With its lead literally locked away, the new season has leaned heavily on its supporting cast, and that cast has been growing in ways longtime fans never expected.

The latest addition to that growing reunion is easily the biggest yet. New set footage has finally captured Charlie Cox and Elodie Yung together in costume as Daredevil and Elektra, marking the first confirmed on set sighting of the two characters sharing a scene since Yung’s return to the role was revealed just over a week earlier.

Yung’s comeback as Elektra Natchios ends nearly a decade of uncertainty around the character, who was last seen presumably dying alongside Matt when a building collapsed on top of them during the climax of ‘The Defenders.’ Her return had been rumored for months, fueled partly by cryptic workout videos Yung posted earlier in the year that fans quickly picked apart for hints.

Her new costume blends elements from both her Netflix appearances into something noticeably more polished, trading the face covering bandana she wore while active as an assassin for one worn openly around her head, paired with a deeper red color scheme than her original suit. It is a subtle nod toward a more comic accurate direction without abandoning the grounded style that has defined the franchise since it first premiered on Netflix.

Cox has also debuted a new look for Season 3, appearing in a red and black suit inspired by one of Matt Murdock’s more armored costumes from the comics rather than a straightforward continuation of his previous Netflix or Disney Plus outfits. Given that Matt spends much of the season’s opening stretch in prison, the new suit likely signals a meaningful shift in how and when Daredevil actually operates this time around.

Elektra’s reappearance joins a swelling list of Netflix era characters making their way back into the fold, with Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones, Mike Colter’s Luke Cage, and Finn Jones’ Danny Rand all confirmed to return as part of a full Defenders reunion. Adding Elektra to that lineup gives Season 3 what may be the most complete gathering of the old Netflix Marvel cast assembled in a single season.

That expanding ensemble raises real questions about where the story goes from here, particularly with Matt sidelined behind bars for at least part of the season. Cox has previously hinted that someone else may need to step up and protect the city in Daredevil’s absence, and Elektra’s history in the comics as an eventual successor to the mantle has only fueled speculation about how large her role might end up being.

Production on Season 3 began back in March, with showrunner Dario Scardapane confirming filming is expected to wrap in early July, meaning this new footage arrives right as the shoot nears its final stretch. Marvel has not officially commented on any of the season’s casting reveals, leaving fans to piece the story together entirely through leaked set photos and videos.

With Vincent D’Onofrio also confirmed to return as a Kingpin who is reportedly more dangerous than ever, and Wilson Bethel’s Bullseye still lurking in the background, Season 3 is shaping up to be the most densely packed chapter ‘Born Again’ has attempted yet. Whether all these moving pieces come together cleanly remains to be seen once the season eventually reaches Disney Plus.
