‘Sinners’ Just Got Its Own Terrifying Maze at Halloween Horror Nights, and Club Juke Has a Serious Vampire Problem

Halloween season always brings a wave of anticipation for horror fans wondering which films will make the jump from screen to theme park attraction. Few announcements this year have generated quite as much buzz as this particular crossover, given the source material’s massive critical and box office success.

Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights has built its reputation on transforming beloved horror properties into immersive walkthrough experiences, and this year’s lineup leans heavily into that tradition. The event’s 35th anniversary season promises to blend legacy scares with brand-new franchise-based houses spread across multiple parks.

Among this year’s biggest additions is a maze based on ‘Sinners,’ Ryan Coogler’s Oscar-winning vampire epic, which has now officially opened as part of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando. The attraction centers on the opening night of Club Juke, the juke joint at the heart of the film’s story, and unsurprisingly, that celebration doesn’t stay peaceful for long.

Set in 1930s Mississippi Delta, ‘Sinners’ follows twin brothers Smoke and Stack as they return to their hometown hoping to build something meaningful for their community by opening the club. What starts as a joyous gathering quickly spirals into chaos once nefarious, red-eyed vampires Remmick, Bert, and Joan crash the celebration with their insatiable hunger.

The maze reportedly transports guests directly into that pivotal night, letting them walk through recreations of key locations and moments from the film as the vampire threat closes in. Guests can expect to encounter familiar faces from the story, including Sammie, Mary, Annie, Pearline, and Cornbread, as they navigate the escalating danger inside the club.

According to the ride’s designers, the queue line itself functions as a themed pre-show, placing guests directly inside a recreation of Club Juke’s dance hall before they even reach the maze’s official start. That section reportedly recreates Sammie’s pivotal “I Lied to You” performance, a moment in the film where past, present, and future begin to blur together.

Ryan Coogler, who wrote, directed, and produced the film, expressed enthusiasm about seeing the story translated into this format. He said partnering with Halloween Horror Nights gives fans the chance to step even deeper into the film’s world, allowing them to feel the music, atmosphere, and tension surrounding them, and that watching it come together on this scale has been meaningful for everyone involved.

Universal’s creative team has echoed that sentiment, framing the film as an especially natural choice for the event given its blend of genre intensity and emotional depth. The studio’s Senior Director of Entertainment Creative Development noted that it’s rare for a film to satisfy dedicated horror fans while also welcoming newcomers into the genre, something ‘Sinners’ managed to accomplish during its theatrical run.

Halloween Horror Nights kicked off its 35th season at Universal Orlando on August 28, running select nights through November 1 under this year’s theme, “Infernal Carnival of Nightmares.” Alongside ‘Sinners,’ this year’s lineup also introduces new houses themed around ‘Hellraiser,’ ‘Evil Dead Burn,’ and the final season of ‘Stranger Things,’ rounding out a slate built around some of horror’s biggest recent names.

A similar version of the maze is also set to debut at Universal Studios Hollywood, giving West Coast fans their own chance to step inside Club Juke’s chaos later this fall. For a film that became one of the year’s most acclaimed horror releases, translating that success into a physical walkthrough experience feels like a natural next step in its cultural footprint.
