‘A Quiet Place’ Star Noah Jupe Joins ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ in a Mystery Role That’s Already Sparking Theories
Marvel’s next great multiversal event is still nearly a year and a half away from theaters, but the studio isn’t wasting any time quietly assembling the cast that will carry its Multiverse Saga toward its conclusion. With ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ still months from release, attention has already started shifting toward what comes next, and the earliest pieces of that puzzle are beginning to fall into place.
That next chapter, ‘Avengers: Secret Wars,’ represents the true culmination of years of interconnected storytelling across the MCU, with Anthony and Joe Russo returning to direct following their work on ‘Doomsday.’ Marvel has been notably tight-lipped about plot specifics for both films, likely to preserve surprises around which characters and universes survive the events of the first installment before the second even begins production.
That secrecy extends to the latest casting news as well. According to an exclusive report from Deadline, Noah Jupe has joined ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ in an undisclosed role, with sources indicating the part is expected to play a key role in the story. Marvel Studios declined to comment on the casting.
Jupe, best known for playing Marcos Abbott across the ‘A Quiet Place’ franchise, brings a notable résumé to the project, including his Academy Award-nominated turn in ‘Hamnet’ and additional credits spanning ‘Ford v. Ferrari,’ ‘Honey Boy,’ and ‘The Death of Robin Hood.’ He’s also set to return for ‘A Quiet Place: Part III,’ which recently wrapped production.
Part of what’s fueling early speculation around Jupe’s casting is his recent connection to another rising MCU star. Jupe previously starred opposite Sadie Sink in a West End revival of ‘Romeo & Juliet,’ which earned him strong reviews over the summer. Sink has since made her own MCU debut as Jean Grey in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ and is expected to reprise that role in the upcoming X-Men reboot.
While reports on Jupe’s casting note no confirmed connection between his character and Sink’s Jean Grey or the broader X-Men roster, the timing and their prior collaboration have understandably fueled fan theories about a possible reunion within the MCU’s expanding multiverse storyline. Marvel has yet to reveal the character Jupe will be playing, leaving plenty of room for speculation in the meantime.
‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ is set to follow directly on the heels of ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ which brings together the X-Men, New Avengers, Fantastic Four, Captain America’s Avengers, Wakanda, and other factions to face off against Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom. The Russo brothers have indicated the film is already in early pre-production even as they continue finishing work on ‘Doomsday.’
Production on ‘Secret Wars’ is expected to begin later this year, with Kevin Feige producing alongside the returning directing duo. Disney has set the film’s theatrical release for December 17, 2027, positioning it as the true finale of the MCU’s sprawling Multiverse Saga.
With Marvel continuing to hold plot details close to the vest for both upcoming Avengers films, Jupe’s casting adds yet another intriguing piece to a puzzle that fans will likely spend the coming months trying to solve. Whatever role he ends up playing, his addition signals that Marvel is already thinking well beyond ‘Doomsday’ as it builds toward the conclusion of this sprawling storyline.
