The Manhunter reveal lands within a cast that has been carefully assembled since well before cameras rolled. Kelly Macdonald was the first major addition after the two leads, joining as Sheriff Kerry, described as a no nonsense woman whose devotion to her family and town anchors the story once its secrets start surfacing.

Garret Dillahunt followed shortly after as William Macon, a self righteous and conspiracy minded cowboy type who masks ambition behind a calculated charm, while Jason Ritter rounds out the Macon family as Billy Macon. Those character descriptions alone explain why fans keep circling back to the family as a source of continued suspicion even after the Zoe reveal.

The wider ensemble includes Nicole Ari Parker as John Stewart’s mother Bernadette, Sherman Augustus as his father, and Ulrich Thomsen stepping into the role of Sinestro, the classic ‘Green Lantern’ villain whose complicated mentorship of Hal Jordan is expected to loom over later episodes. Nathan Fillion also returns as Guy Gardner in a cameo that ties the show back to his appearances in ‘Superman.’
