‘Lupin’ Returns From Prison in New Season 4 First Look Photos
Streaming’s fall lineup is shaping up to be packed with returning favorites and brand-new thrillers, and this week brought fresh looks at two shows sitting on opposite ends of that spectrum. One is a beloved global phenomenon finally breaking its lead character out of a corner he wrote himself into, and the other is an entirely new revenge story built to remind audiences why elite hitmen should never underestimate a woman with nothing left to lose.
Netflix’s ‘Lupin‘ has spent years building a reputation as one of the platform’s biggest global hits, and Part 4 is picking up right where Part 3 left its hero stranded. Omar Sy returns as Assane Diop, the gentleman thief whose season three arc ended with him voluntarily surrendering to police in order to protect his wife, son, mother, and closest friend, landing him behind bars for the first time in the show’s history.

The newly released first-look images confirm that Assane’s imprisonment is about to take an unexpected turn, though Netflix has kept plot specifics tightly under wraps for now. Part 4 will run eight episodes at roughly 45 minutes each, making it the longest installment in the show’s history and surpassing Part 3’s seven-episode run, with Ludivine Sagnier, Antoine Gouy, Soufiane Guerrab, and Shirine Boutella all returning alongside newcomers Théo Christine and Laïka Blanc-Francard.

Sy, who also serves as showrunner alongside Louis Leterrier, spoke about his continued attachment to the role, describing the franchise in personal terms. “I often say that Lupin is an extraordinary plaything,” Sy told Netflix’s Tudum, adding that he finds “great joy in it every time” he returns to the character. ‘Lupin’ Part 4 arrives on Netflix on October 23.
