Fauda‘ has never been a show that lets its characters walk away unscathed, and season four proved that once again with a finale that left almost everyone bleeding out on the ground. The Netflix thriller sent Doron and his unit far beyond their usual turf this time, chasing an operation that stretched across Brussels, Syria, Lebanon, and eventually back to Jenin, and the cost of that mission landed hard on the people fans had followed since season one.

By the time the credits rolled on the finale, two major characters were confirmed dead, while several others were left in a devastating cliffhanger that had viewers debating who actually survived. Here’s a full breakdown of who died in ‘Fauda’ season four and what led to those brutal final moments.

‘Fauda’ Season 4 Plot Sets Up A Deadly International Mission

Season four opens with Doron still reeling from the fallout of the previous chapter, feeling guilty over a teammate’s death and angry after being dismissed from the unit before Captain Ayub pulls him back in for what starts as a routine security job in Brussels.

That simple assignment unravels fast once Doron and Ayub meet a young Lebanese source named Omar Tawalbe, a contact who turns out to be working with Hezbollah all along.

The show also introduced several new faces this season, including Inbar Lavi, Amir Boutrous as Omar, Lucy Ayoub as Maya, Danny Steg, and Loai Nofi, expanding the cast beyond the show’s usual roster.

Senior Shin Bet interrogator Gabi convinces Doron to join him on the Brussels trip, but Omar betrays Gabi and hands him over to Hezbollah operatives, kicking off the rescue mission that defines the rest of the season.

Omar Tawalbe’s Death Becomes the Season’s Emotional Gut Punch

The rescue operation to save Gabi eventually leads Doron and Maya, Omar’s own sister, into Lebanon under a Mossad-engineered plan involving fake passports and a deepfake video used to manipulate Maya into helping locate her brother.

Doron and the team ultimately succeed in freeing Gabi from Hezbollah’s custody with help from Omar, but as the group heads toward the extraction helicopter, Gabi grabs Doron’s weapon and shoots Omar dead in revenge for everything he endured and was forced to reveal during captivity.

The moment is one of the most gutting in the season because Omar’s death doesn’t come at the hands of a stranger or an enemy soldier, it comes from the very man he ultimately helped save, and it leaves his sister Maya devastated and disillusioned with the operation that used her to get close to him.

Gabi survives the rescue physically, but he returns home with severe PTSD, and his family had already believed him dead after Omar previously handed his badly bloodied body over to Hezbollah leadership earlier in the season.

Adel Tawalbe’s Death Closes Out the Jenin Missile Plot

While Omar’s storyline played out abroad, his cousin Adel Tawalbe was running operations back at the Jenin refugee camp, using intelligence extracted from Gabi to orchestrate assassination attempts against Shin Bet officials, including Doron and Dana.

Adel’s group manages to kill several Israelis using missiles smuggled in with Hezbollah’s backing, though the Iron Dome intercepts most of the strikes before they can do more damage.

It’s Gabi who comes up with the idea to use Omar’s funeral in Jenin as bait, disguising Doron’s team as mourners to lure Adel out into the open for the final confrontation.

That plan sets up the season’s climactic battle, and it’s Doron who ultimately kills Adel during the chaos, ending the threat that had defined the back half of the season even as the mission itself spirals into disaster for his own team.

The ‘Fauda’ Season 4 Finale Leaves Eli, Sagi and Steve’s Fates Hanging

The final battle in Jenin turns into a bloodbath for Doron’s unit, with Eli, Sagi, and Steve all shot by a sniper while Russo and Doron are also wounded in the crossfire.

Sagi’s situation carries extra weight given that he and Nurit had just gotten engaged earlier in the season, with Nurit stepping back from fieldwork after learning she was pregnant, only for Sagi to end up shot during the very operation he couldn’t sit out.

Eli, the team’s longtime commander who had been planning to leave the unit, is widely considered to be in the most danger given how the show has historically treated characters ready to walk away from the life.

As the season ends, Doron is shown lying on the ground clutching the hands of his wounded comrades, a haunting final image that deliberately left the fates of Eli, Sagi, and Steve unresolved heading into whatever came next for the series.

‘Fauda’ has built its entire reputation on refusing to let anyone feel safe, and this cliffhanger is peak proof of that, so which of Doron’s wounded teammates do you think paid the ultimate price in Jenin?
