‘Silo’ Star Rebecca Ferguson Owns McQueen’s London Homecoming in Sculpted Black Leather

Some fashion moments are all about volume, and others rely on precision. Rebecca Ferguson’s appearance at the latest Alexander McQueen show belongs firmly in the second category. New photos of her at the show are making the rounds, and the tailoring is doing the talking.

The occasion was significant for the house. McQueen returned to London Fashion Week for its Spring/Summer 2027 season, with a show on September 20 that marked creative director Seán McGirr’s first time presenting the brand in London. It was also McQueen’s first London Fashion Week appearance since Sarah Burton’s Spring/Summer 2023 show, after years of showing primarily in Paris. McGirr told WWD that the city has “a uniquely visceral energy” that inspires everything the house does.

Now the photos are making waves. Fashion account Cinethology shared a portrait of Ferguson in her McQueen look on Thursday, calling her stunning at the show. The picture shows her in a black leather jacket, a black mini skirt and lace tights, standing in front of an ivy-covered stone building.

The centerpiece is the jacket. According to CelebMafia, it has a high funnel neckline, pronounced shoulders and curved panel seams through the torso, with two silver-toned fastenings near the cropped lower edge. The structure exaggerates the shoulders while pulling in the waist, giving a corseted, architectural effect even though the material is heavy leather.

Below the jacket, Ferguson wore a black mini skirt and sheer black floral lace tights, which add a softer, more intricate texture against the smooth leather. She reportedly finished the outfit with black knee-high boots with squared toes, and her loosely textured blonde hair stays relaxed to offset the rigid silhouette. In the portrait, a small braid at the front of her hair adds a delicate detail.

The all-black palette suits the house. McQueen has long been associated with sharp tailoring and dramatic proportions, and the outfit puts those codes into a look that reads modern rather than costume-like.

The setting was as dramatic as the clothes. The runway took place in the Undercroft of Lincoln’s Inn Chapel, a rib-vaulted 17th-century underground space with gravestones underfoot, where guests sat on simple benches while beams of light pierced the ceiling before the room went dark and strobes started flashing. 10 Magazine called the 46-look show a homecoming in the spirit of the late Lee McQueen.

The collection focused on tailoring and dramatic gowns, with a smattering of menswear. McGirr collaborated with master jeweler Shaun Leane on precious-metal body adornment, and worked with Huntsman on the men’s silhouettes. There were sculptural angel-wing cuts in the women’s tailoring, along with a convertible pump that reimagines the Armadillo heel.

Ferguson wasn’t alone in the front row. Emilia Clarke led the guest list alongside Florence Welch and Alexa Chung, while Lila Moss, Georgia May Jagger and Ellie Bamber were among the younger names. Lola Tung and Sophie Thatcher made their London Fashion Week debuts, and Emma Corrin and Siouxsie Sioux were also in attendance.

The mix of generations made the show feel like a gathering of English roses, as one outlet put it. Ferguson’s leather look stood apart from the more romantic dresses seen around the room.

Fashion is just one part of a busy 2026 for Ferguson. She starred in the AI thriller ‘Mercy’ with Chris Pratt, appeared in Netflix’s ‘Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man’, and played the villainous Dame Snap in the fantasy adaptation ‘The Magic Faraway Tree’. She also returned as Juliette Nichols in the third season of Apple TV’s ‘Silo’, which premiered July 3.

Her next big release is ‘Dune: Part Three’, which hits theaters December 18. Ferguson has said her part as Lady Jessica is a single scene already seen in the trailer, but the fashion moment shows she is far from lacking screen presence.
